Tokiwa camera — Local services in Osaka

Context: I found this place from a blog from some years ago (easily 3+ years old blog). I had added it to my "stores to visit" while in Osaka and stumbled upon it while exploring. Would give my business to them again.

Staff: Extremely helpful and welcoming. I was backpacking so didn't have the best of clothes. A faded running t shirt and shorts, and i walked in after a 12 hour flight journey. There was no hesitation to show me a Leica M6, when I just asked if it was a 0.72 magnification.

Range of products: From what I saw, they had quite some film and digital cameras (including mirrorless, SLRs, rangefinders). Contax TVS, T2, Nikon F3's, Rollei's, Sony A's, Canon, Nikon DSLRs, etc. Lenses - loads and loads of lenses. Nikon Ai-s, AF-D, AF-S, Sigma. Leica lenses were a bit less though.

Buying/Selling: i. Shop is tax free ii. Sold my Konic Hexar RF here. I received a fair price here. I realized this because after I got a quote from here, I went around Osaka. Was an amazing experience! This was my first time hunting for a pre-owned camera and Tokiwa played a vital role in the same. Mr. Takashi was really knowledgeable and took me thoroughly through the details of my purchase. Despite being a rather small-sized establishment, the collection was of extremely high quality and I was treated with the utmost of kindness and hospitality throughout. Though I went in as a hesitant and nervous amateur who was getting his first 'proper' camera, I walked out with a grin on my face, my heart brimming with joy and my hand holding onto a mint Panasonic GH4. Thank you Tokiwa for making this a joyous experience which will be cherished forever. Better price, customer service, and stock. Wife and I went to Bic Camera to get a Nikon Zfc. They were out of stock. So we went next door to Tokiwa camera, and for the same camera, it was about 10% cheaper. The salesman was very helpful and patiently worked with me to sample multiple different cameras. Wife is thrilled with her Zfc.

Two days later, we came back to the store to buy myself a Canon R7. I must have sat there for 30 minutes going back and forth between the Nikon Z5 and Canon R7. The same salesperson helped me make an informed decision.
