Finally have time to do a review for this restaurants (visit in mid june 2023). First time traveling to Japan and since we (3 people) staying in kuromon market for 2 weeks, we decided to try the buffet style oysters on their grandopening. First patch of 10 (set of 2) was good. 2nd batch smelled off (very fishy), while eating half way through the 2nd batch upon opening oyster we found a black dead oyster (see photo). We told the server about it and they apologized and talked among themselves about the issue. We litterly have to tell them we do not want the left over batch (1 set) and to change the utensils for contamination. Since it's grand opening we do not want to make a big commotion and decided to continue. We got the 3rd batch of steamed oysters of set of 2. It was less fishy but the end result was the same. There was a dead black 0yster in that batch too. On that point we decided to stop. We only have 3 days left on our vacation and do not want to risk any stomach issue, so we told them of the bad oyster again and to get our check. We paid in full and did not request any compensation or discount. We just wanted to leave. End up eating something else in the market cause we were still hungry. The quality control is not good as other restaurants we tried in japan in our 2 weeks stay. Future tip, if the batch of seafood smells fishy than something is wrong with the food itself, do not give 2nd thoughts. We would give it 0 star but since they just opened and consideration of possible improvements in the future, we decided...
Read moreCame here because it was the first restaurant we saw when we walked into the market, and it looked solid. However, calling this place short-handed is a crazy understatement because the Chinese dude who works in there is the trinity of the host, waiter and the cook himself. So we expected a longer wait time, and that’s understandable. But just one small thing that bugged me, MY GOD did the food taste bad. Now I’m not Gordon Ramsay of Japanese cuisine but I know when fish tastes like metal. And the worst thing above them, is that I had a miso soup that was unmelted and still had some miso paste settled in the bottom of the bowl. Literally the most disgusting thing I’ve ever had. In a nutshell, this place is overpriced and the food tastes horrible, and I would...
Read moreHorrible food. Do not recommend. Extremely small oysters, not fresh, not delicious, no taste at all. I’ve ordered steamed oyster, expecting it to be hot but it was warm-cold… The oysters were too small they had to apologise and give us two other small oysters. Very horrible. Ordered eel with eggs: eggs were not delicious, and the proportion between the eggs and eel was NOT great. Expensive, not delicious, there are MUCH better food in Osaka. The most horrible meal I’ve had in Osaka. Complete tourist trap, with a paper printed out saying if you give a 5 star review you would get a free oyster, that is why the restaurant...
