I did the Manaslu Circuit Trek with Mountain Rock Treks, and my brain is still processing all of the wow moments. For me it was a once in a lifetime experience and I am glad I did my research on tour companies beforehand. I emailed several companies during my research and what sold me was Dipak’s thoughtful, clear and quick responses. He was our contact before the trek, and he was super responsive and always made me feel like everything was going to be fine, even when I had those "What did I sign up for?" moments. He was so organized, and if you're like me and panic-text people when you're traveling, you’ll be comforted by how quickly he replies to all your questions.
Mountain Rock Treks made everything feel so easy and reassuring, and it was clear from the start that they’re all about giving you an authentic, top-notch experience. Bonus points for how much they care about the local community. They employ local staff, which helps the Nepali economy thrive, and you can feel the pride they take in supporting their team.
Jit Kumar Nachhiring was my guide and Dipak (different from emails) was my porter. These two were like a superhero team. Jit’s knowledge about the local culture and history was so deep, I felt like I was taking a class on Nepal’s coolest facts with the best teacher. It was like every mountain we passed had its own story, and Jit was the master storyteller. I also felt like he did a great job of getting the best teahouse accommodations that were available. He seemed to know of each one and what they were like.
Then there’s Dipak. This guy is like a walking powerhouse of positivity and strength. Seriously, I’m pretty sure he has superhuman abilities. He carried everything with ease (and a smile!), making sure that our trek was smooth, safe, and... just really, really well-supported.
I’m not the fittest person on the planet and these two were very supportive and made sure I was able to complete the trek. I did this trek alone, and the hardest part of it was fighting my brain, and Jit helped me believe in myself when I wasn't sure if I could. This trek and going through the Larkya Pass will be one of my greatest lifetime achievements and I couldn’t have done it...
Read moreIt was the best decision we ever made to go for an Annapurna Base Camp Trek as Couples Travelkers, and the experience was nothing short of a dream come true. We could not have chosen a better organizer than Mountain Rock Treks, who ensured our journey went smoothly and safely.
We reached a maximum altitude of 3,800 m and loved all the sights and sounds of the trek, but we were nervous as we had heard a lot about the threats of altitude sickness. Thankfully, all this fear was laid to rest as our guide Upendra made sure we took it slow and steady, and surprisingly no one in our group suffered from altitude sickness.
The guide was highly knowledgeable and well-acquainted with the terrain of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. He was very patient and caring towards all of us, ensuring everyone was comfortable and enjoying the trek. He also taught us how to negotiate the technical parts of the terrain, which was a great learning experience.
The food provided during the trek was delicious, sumptuous, and varied for all the meals. We were lucky enough to gorge on delicious varieties of rice, dal, vegetables, soups, and the traditional Nepali curry ‘Dal Bhat.’ We were also served freshly baked cakes and pies during our rest stops.
The accommodation during the trek was also excellent. We stayed at comfortable lodges and tea houses with private rooms and provisions to prepare hot meals. All the accommodation providers had great hospitality and service, making sure that we felt at home away from home.
The scenery was mesmerizing, and we can guarantee that trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp with Mountain Rock Treks will be an adventure you will never forget. We would love to come back in the future for another trek and would not want to go with...
Read moreDipak was amazing to work with! Very professional and does everything with a smile! I had the unpleasantness of working with a different trekking agency (Himalayan Spirit Adventure Treks and Expeditions) initially and the service provided by them could not compare to Dipak's level of professionalism and warmth. The guy at the other company never smiled and didn't really seem interested in what activities I wanted. It just seemed he was trying to sell me on every service possible, inaccurately told me that helicopters were not flying back from Lukla, and when it came time to get refunded for the plane ride that I booked this guy definitely did not want to give me my money back. All this to say is to say that I experienced none of this with Dipak. He was very friendly and knowledgeable from the beginning and I wish I had only dealt with him. He didn't try to sell me on any unnecessary services and he was really helpful in helping me figure out alternative treks to do when Everest Base Camp didn't work out for me. He was in constant contact with me every day so I appreciated the level of communication from him. Initially, I didn't even book a package from him (only a flight to Lukla) but he still gave me a free company t shirt and supplied me with free maps for surrounding treks. I felt very valued as a customer and appreciated his friendly demeanor. Send Dipak a message! You will not be disappointed! If I come back to Nepal I plan on using...
