Discovered this gem around 2:00 PM - Friday and I can see why large groups of asian people frequent this place - it's a great sign of authenticity!
The menu photos are so appetizing, I had trouble deciding what to try first.
But I stick to what I came for - Kimchi veg rice with Gorkha Premium beer (bottles only)
The rice came beautifully presented with 7 small bowls of different pickled vegetables including kimchi, plus an extra bowl for mixing. Served with both chopsticks and spoon.
Each bowl offered a different flavor profile, surprisingly mild heat, and absolutely delicious combinations.
Food was imply outstanding! Every bite was a flavor explosion.
Now I understand those Korean videos where people grab their heads in amazement at good home cooking - this food evokes that same reaction. The variety of pickled vegetables creates perfect harmony with the rice.
Service notes: Food arrived quickly (about 20 minutes) Staff took a while to initially approach, had to look around for service
Final verdict: This is officially my new favorite restaurant in Pokhara! The Korean flavours and presentation make this a must-visit.
Already planning my next visit to explore more of their menu.
Highly recommended for anyone craving...
Read moreMy experience at San Chon Korean Food was absolutely delightful! The taste of the food was incredible, with each dish bursting with flavor and leaving me wanting more. The bulgogi was a standout, with perfect seasoning and presentation that brought a new level of excitement to the meal. The sound of the sizzling bulgogi being served added to the overall experience, leaving a lasting impression. The chicken gimbap was equally impressive, offering a smooth texture and a medley of delicious flavors. Additionally, the San Chon coffee was a pleasant surprise, providing a satisfying end to the meal. I must also give a special mention to the side dishes, each one adding a unique and delicious fermented flavor to the meal. Overall, San Chon Korean Food exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return for another fantastic dining...
Read moreThis place has a lot of potential. The way it’s designed with open kitchen and the „instagrammable“ exterior sets it up to take it for the win. The only problem is that the soul is missing in this place. The character or a great manager or host is missing. This could really make a difference. Other than that, the Bibimbap was good. The portion is HUGE, I appreciate that. The free condiments that come with the food are boring and the same as what I already had inside my Bibimbap. Overall a nice place with a lot of potential. Not sure, but I saw a lady that looked Korean (could be the owner) would be nice if she would engage with some guests in the...
