I first discovered Sweet Revenge 2 years ago when I was visiting Christchurch on holiday. As a coeliac, I don't really enjoy a lot of Gluten Free Desserts. So when I discovered this place, I spent $80 here in 2 days. Their eclairs are out of this world, and there was not one item that I brought that I didn't enjoy. Last time, we spoke to the owners husband and he was so polite and helpful.
On another trip to Christchurch last night, we visited again. I have to say, I was horribly disappointed by the service. The lady was blunt, rude and very unhelpful. Any question we had was replied to with a one word answer before she would turn away. For someone who was so excited to come back, she definitely stopped me from wanting to return.
Food was yummy, as per usual, but the service ruined...

I visited today and the eclairs were absolutely amazing ā light, perfectly filled, and full of flavour. You can tell theyāre made with real skill and care. Unfortunately, the customer service really let the experience down. The lady with grey hair who served me didnāt smile once and came across as quite unfriendly, which made the visit uncomfortable. I also witnessed this when she served people before me in the queue. Such a shame, because the eclairs easily deserve five stars, but the attitude at the counter brought it down to two. A smile and a bit of kindness would make all the difference, especially on a Friday. Hesitant to go back when the customer service received at other sweet shops in the same area are 5 star service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the third time I've been disappointed by these guys, the first time I got a salted caramel slice, it was so salty it was inedible, second time the millionaire slice had a horrible chemical taste in the icing, my partner complained and they did right by offering us a freebie but even the freebie which was a bailey's ball also had a horrible chemically taste, like chlorine or somthing. Gave it a good long while before we went back and thought, surely biscoff cheesecake cant go wrong... nope, knew straight away that it was mock cream, not cream cheese, didnt taste like a proper cheesecake at all, was so sickly and not enjoyable, and the same weird chemically taste, couldnt eat it. for $9.50 you would expect it to be decent.
