Second time getting my hair cut here, first time was good but this second time was horrible.

I asked for a trim and face framing layers (which I had last time) and have been left with a chunky fringe and no blending whatsoever into the rest of my long hair. She also thinned my hair without asking which I'm devastated by.

The stylist spent 15 minutes cutting my hair and another 30 minutes trying to style it, positioning each strand carefully to make it look good, then proceeded to grab it all and run oil through it which undid everything I sat through?? Ended up having to run parts of my hair under the tap at work to try and get the oil out of it, and had to tie it up in the end because i was so embarrassed by the chunky random fringe I now have.

I would've spoken up at the appointment but I was worried she'd do more damage and it would take even longer to grow back out/fix.

EDITED TO ADD: Owner reached out to apologise and offered to cover the cost of the other salon's fee to fix the messed up hair cut (instead of just refunding me what I paid). Also asked nicely if I would consider removing this review. I appreciate their kindness but it does make me wonder how many other times this has happened and...

I visited this place today based on recommendations from others. It quickly became clear that the stylist I was assigned shared only the same name with the highly recommended one.

As soon as I sat down and started being questioned, I realized how inaccurate my information was.

Throughout the styling process, she asked me questions, and although I answered, it seemed she completely misunderstood my intentions.

She came across as an inexperienced stylist, rather than the seasoned professional I was led to believe she would be. This was evident in the final result of her work.

I couldn't stop the styling process once it began, so I sat there for 30 minutes. When I made the appointment, I was told the cut and shampoo would take 45 minutes, but I suspect the time was shortened due to another client waiting.

Regardless, I can’t imagine a better outcome even if more time was taken.

Today, I experienced the worst styling and service imaginable in Auckland.

Worst haircut I’ve had. The stylist said I have thin hair but proceeded to use thinning shears on the back of my hair so much that I feel like I have no hair left on the back. The haircut is awful and uneven. She said she’s going to layer it but I end up with a shorter haircut than what I came in before. I even showed her a photo of what I want and I don’t think you can go wrong with that information as a hairstylist.

She didn’t listen to what I was saying and even tried to tell me my hair is damaged and should get a different perm to the one I already have. Said my perm makes my hair very frizzy.

I think she tried to cover it up by styling it and making it look nice but when I went home to wash my hair it was a frizzy mess. Will have to wear a cap for the next few months for me to grow my hair back to its original state.
