This was one of my best spa experiences in Bangkok. Maybe in Asia too! I’ve tried massages from Sri Lanka to Bali. But this must be one of the most professional and effective treatments. I had the two hour treatment comprising of a scrub and a hot compress with massage. The former took up about half and hour while the latter 1.5 hours. The therapist communicates well in English. Has initiative and knows how to adapt to differing massage strength as instructed. Her technique is also quite good. She doesn’t just repeat the same massage strokes. She varies a lot and also depending on the area she focuses on, the movements change. She’s also got a very aware of her pressure. Some therapist get too light or too heavy. She’s just perfect. The oil used was also top quality oil. Absorption is fast and your skin is left feeling like a new born baby’s. The only slight quibble I have is the hot compress - not a fan of it. Besides the treatment itself, the facilities and massage room and the environment all worked seamlessly together to create an unforgettable spa experience. U forget that you’re in the middle of Erawan ; the heart of the city. The treatment rooms have complete privacy and the room is very well appointed - it has everything u need. The rain bath shower was so good too. But the one thing that i appreciated the most was the room temperature. It’s not too hot and not too cold. Let’s not forget you’re completely naked in a treatment room. So if you’re sensitive to cold like myself, u can get quite sick from the cold air of the air con. I usually get a terrible blocked nose, sometimes a runny nose if it’s too cold. But the temperature in the room was just nice. No towels are used only cotton sheets to cover your body. It was so pleasant and comfy. So glad and grateful that I discovered isawan. Will...
Read moreI paid alittle over 16000 baht for the 360 well-being retreat package and all in all the service was mediocre at best. I was there for several services. One being a pedi and 90 min facial. The facial I was given was one of the worse ones I have ever had, mind you the body scrub and wrap preformed by the clinician was good but, the facial left a lot to be desired. She didn’t do a deep cleaning nor extractions and it seemed she keep doing the same 3 things on a loop to run out the time and she wasn’t very kind either. It was that fake kind when someone doesn’t want to do their job and then she wanted to complete all treatments before I had lunch which is not what I asked for or what was advertised. She just wanted to get it done instead of taking care of the customer. Also the pedi wasn’t great either it lacked a lot of elements that make a pedi. Plus, I asked her twice to cut back my nails but, she didn’t and to have gel was extra she didn’t make my nails the shape that I asked for either but, the saving grace for her is that she was kind and friendly. Then comes the meal that I was given was cold and old possible made hours before. It wasn’t fresh at all then I was charged for my drink which should be included. I expect alot more when I come to an upscale place for services that’s why I chose them not to be nickeled and dime for extras when it should be a part of the treatment. So, if you are looking for upscale services I would...
Read moreWe always stay at the Grand Hyatt Erawan but haven't had the chance to get a massage at the hotel spa as it is usually booked out. The last time we did a treatment here, it was many years ago so I was excited to get a slot during our last short stay in BKK.
The spa is on L5, same as the gym and pool facilities. It looked pretty much like what I remembered from years ago actually. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the gym looked refreshed, while the treatment rooms seemed dated, at least the one I was in. Probably the only downside for me. My therapist K.Por was excellent and maintained the same pressure throughout the session, and managed to find a few knots that had been causing me a lot of discomfort. After the session, I felt refreshed and relaxed. Def worth a visit if you're staying at the hotel. If you have time, unwind by the pool or book a slot with the fitness center for one of the complimentary sessions they have for guests. I'm definitely packing my gym clothes for...
