After flying across the world from the states, I wanted some relaxation. I chose siesta because wow there are so many Google reviews. My standards are high and may be I also went in with high expectations. I wanted to add AI analysis to my aromatherapy package but they didn’t let me add due to time constraints. But I was able to add hand massage.
I was 15-20m late due to traffic, however, they were courteous enough to see me which I really appreciated. And the room is beautifully decorated and was cozy indeed imo.
However, my compliments end here. I wanted a relaxing time, but felt rushed throughout the appointment. As soon as I walked in, I felt so rushed. A girl asked me my preferences about the session (pressure, eye mask, facial massage etc) and took my payment. I was escorted to my room afterwards. The therapist was already waiting inside.
She told me to change into robe, but no one left the room. They drew the curtain and stood there. She then introduced me to my therapist and left the room.
It started with warm oil and herbal compress to my neck and shoulders. I have been to several Thai massages back home and in Bangkok. I felt massage was just average. When I was about to finally relax, another person walked into the room to give me foot and hand massage. Two of them started chatting to each other as she was giving me my hand massage. I hope I’m not too much to expect some tranquil, quiet, peaceful time in a “head spa” environment.
To sum up, the entire process felt rushed and definitely was not tranquil. It would have been better if there were less people walking in and out throughout the process. Also they dry hair outside the room, and it was not relaxing hearing other conversations. There were 3 other clients drying their hair and talking to their therapists. Reception with multiple receptionists was also right behind the drying counter. They were busy taking walk-in reservations. You can imagine the noise level.
I asked for big curls loose wavy hair but I got curls only at hair ends. My daughter can probably curl hair better than this stylist. It was so bad I had to tie my hair with scrunchie on way out. She also couldn’t style my bangs properly. I may have gotten a junior therapist. 🙄
They also give you a QR code for review during dry session. That explained why they had a lot of online reviews. I woke up early for this appt and spent about 2 hours there. Didn’t feel my time and money was worth it. I even had to get help from my brother who lives in Bangkok to make an online deposit for me because my foreign card was having error on their payment platform. With all the trouble I mentioned above, I definitely do not recommend this establishment to family...
Read moreBangkok is known for its massage and commonly known foot massages. Your feet will feel wonderful however you need to treat not only the bottom of your body but also the top of your body. Siesta Head Spa is this place. I have seen youtube featuring special establishments that massage your head and put some type of water spout on your hair but I didn't understand it really. I booked same day over the online website and with the appointment you must deposit a certain amount to lock-in your time. Maybe they are busy. It was not hard to find this place, it is very spacious and modern. There are many types of packages you can choose from and I selected the scalp treatment to help hair growth and condition my scalp. I think this will help my thining hair for this 63 yr old gentleman. I was given a private room with a beautiful bonsi tree (not sure of the type of tree it is) and I laid down. You are warmed with a cozy blanket and the head massage begins. The beautician places different serums into your hair, rinsing and massaging. She uses a soft scalp brush and applies a different serum. Over your face she places a steam mask. Not hot but soothing. Lastly, the "waterfall" is a ring of running water that is place right above your hairline for several minutes. This reminded me of my home in Hawaii where you float on the surface of the water, however this felt the same way without the feeling your ears are immersed under the water. It is a very soothing feeling and relaxing time. Lastly, a soft blow dry of the hair, hot drink and your done. If you want to treat your hair and head with a head spa from Siesta, I would highly...
Read moreVery relaxing, the staff are professional and kind. The receptionist made an effort accommodate our schedule and even told us when there was a cancellation so my aunt and I could get the treatment together.
The actual spa treatment itself was amazing, the room was clean and the ambience was soothing. Good pressure for the massage. My hair feels extremely clean, especially after being in the ocean constantly.
When it comes to blow drying my hair; they did suggest to keep my hair wavy, but I have very curly hair naturally that needs a certain way to dry. As a result, my hair did go very puffy using the methods they had and my curls were too frayed. however, I voice my concerns and they were very happy accommodate my request to blow dry my hair straight as I was not happy with my ‘curly/wavy dry’. Very thankful for them, and I feel much more comfortable with my hair now! (My hair is very stubborn and can go very wrong if not dried properly - even I have trouble managing my hair hahaha).
My aunt and I feel very happy after our treatments, and we recommend anyone to come here! Thank you to the team!!! We had a...
