ABC Cooking Studio — Local services in Pathum Wan Subdistrict

Boring cooking class. First of all, if you're a foreigner, just know that the cooking lesson is not in English. They may advertise it as so but the lesson was only in thai. The only advice I got was "stir" "again" "yes" and "no". Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming the chef at all. She did what she could and was really nice. I'm blaming ABC cooking studio for not planning to get a chef that speaks English when they advertise it as English lessons and know foreigners will be attending.

Then the class in of itself was just plain boring. We get to do the chocolate cake that we prepared for 45 mins. They couldn't really explain me what to do (cause no English) so they just did it for me when it was wrong. So much for a cooking lesson, huh. Then we had an hour or so of absolutely NOTHING. Just seating at our table firstly while the cake baked (understandable but still you could arrange to get us something to do in the meantime) then  cooling the cake with a fan then they put in the fridge. What do you do then? Again nothing. Then once it's cooled down you get another 10 mins of decorating the cake.

To sum up, 45 mins of "cooking lesson" without any advice whatsoever then 1h of nothing. Worst cooking class I've ever attended. Cake...

I decided to stop learning at this place and here is my review:

1. It’s more like a fun activity not a real cooking class.
2. Studio is a bit dated now, lockers are starting to be broken. Stations have started peeling off.
3. Staff have not changed much since 2019 and some taught the same way which they should have been more improved.
4. People start to film and being a “CONTENT CREATOR” esp in 2023. This disturb me a lot cuz they will put phone/small camera on the shared cooking desk. Filming it, keep adjusting it, also touch up their faces/hairs all the time.
5. No one wears any toque/hat and it’s not provided. So, my last two classes I have got hairs in my food which were certainly not mine (different color, length, thickness). 6)Menus have not changed much since 2019-2023 while other countries menu look a lot more appealing.

4-6 are my real reasons to stop taking class here. I actually want a fun activity class with higher hygiene and safety standard. Less content creator environment cuz I didn’t want to be one and be in theirs...

Clean and friendly staff. We decided to go for the beginner course of cooking the Japanese dish omelette and curry. Very easy to follow. However, one star is deducted because it was probably abit too easy as the ingredients are already prepped and we just had to put everything together. We also got assigned to a table that has two other people with us, which isnt a bad thing, but could prove to be a little overwhelming for some people because its not total private table.
