COCA Central World — Restaurant in Pathum Wan Subdistrict

First time visiting here. I went there because the logo with 'Since 1957' gave me a bit of a trust somehow. And you know what? It was worth the budget and I was really surprised with the service they are offering and the food quality they provide. From dimsum to Shabu shabu, everything was really satisfied to my heart content, and every ingredient was fresh and cleanly served. I felt really happy and lucky to find this restaurant and I will explore more to come. The soup was really good. And the dumplings and the pork bao was one ofthe most delicious ones I had in my entire life. While being seated at the table can be seen from the kitchen, after I tried the pork bun, I clapped hard, and the chefs at the kitchen looked at me, smiling. The idea that "food can give love, joy, hope", can be definitely applied to this kinda restaurant. And NO Wonder why this restaurant has more than 60 years of history. I will visit again, since it's also in other countries such as Singapore, Malaysia,...

It was nostalgia that prompted us to come to this restaurant at Central World. To be fair to them, we stuck to the steamboat so I couldn’t comment on the dim sun which seemed to hv garnered lots of positive reviews.

I used to remember discernible sesame seeds and cilantro in their chili sauce but it has become a commercialised sweet dipping sauce..food quality to be honest was not bad but the price was too high for justification . We were told the only prawns available was the tiger prawns which at 688 baht for 5 were a rip off. A meal for two which included marinaded beef (ie, not wagyu) that came up to be 2900 baht (including two bottles of beer) means to us the name is best confined to our memories.

Time to explore other steamboat...

Love this Coca, last time here was Nov 2023 and I just say the food and service is just excellent. Don’t bother with MK while in Thailand because Coca does it better, better than the Chinese Haidilao too.
