This store is an amazing place to visit, I used to be a regular customer here, I was so thrilled when I saw one day that they were hiring so I went to apply. Please understand if you visit this store it is a LOCAL business and therefore is a little different then your corporate stores. Understand if you are a minor (under 18 yrs old) wanting to purchase a knife they MUST and NEED to ask your parents for consent if they are with you (not ask you for an ID). If are 18 and above they will then ask you to show them proof or you can call your parents to confirm your 18 if you don't have your ID on you. I was an employee of the store so I do know these things, my boss is very kind, generous, and respectful to his employees and customers. He does everything he can to make sure you find what you are looking for and same for his wife and he does NOT force his kids to work at the store or do anything while their there, they come with their parents to work because they want to. My boss does not yell at his employees, in fact he is really funny and tells us funny stories and jokes all the time, so we have a good time and laugh together. Oriental Gifts only SELL knives that are LEGAL to SELL in the State of New Mexico, but they will let you know whether they are LEGAL to carry around in public or if there not, if it is not legal to carry around in public then it is your RESPONSIBILITY to LEAVE it at home so you don't get in trouble, not theirs. This store continues to sell knifes that are illegal in the state of New Mexico. They do not check for ID at all on minors, when selling. The manager also allows his 2 children to work in the store.
