Our family tried this restaurant in-house based on the excellent google reviews and were grossly DISAPPOINTED. We are from the San Francisco Bay Area and are avid sushi eaters. Firstly, it took 1.5 hours for us to receive our food without any explanation from the staff as to why. We thought “hopefully this food will be worth the extremely long wait!” However, the food here fell short of expectations. The sushi rolls such as the “magic dragon” and “ebi carnival” were not fresh and tasted marginal at best. The overpriced “chef gone wild flaming roll” tasted mushy with an inedible lighter fluid aftertaste. The salmon teriyaki was bland and watery. After being ignored for over an hour, one of the waitresses apologized for the slow service and gave us free miso soup and rice which was a nice gesture, but didn’t make up for the overall disappointing experience. We were really looking forward to amazing sushi tonight on NYE but instead were left with a very sad 😔 experience. We would not recommend this...
Read moreDining during the play high season can be stressful but this was the perfect stop and the menu is larger than what’s posted online. I was cautious based on other reviews, but we were greeted warmly at the door, prompting directed to our seats and served water immediately while our drink orders were taken. Food arrived swiftly, with a human and robot server. The chirashi was beautiful and the tamago just right. The fish was firm and fresh. I was told the bento was yummy by people in my party. The crunchy sweet potato and avocado roll combination was a creative and vegetarian option. The shiitake mushrooms on top of the mango and macadamia roll were especially delicious. Service was attentive and filled waters without being asked. My tea was also refilled, unbidden. I shouldn’t have to mention this, but based on other reviews, I’ll add that we were warmly thanked as we left. I wasn’t expecting much on the touristy part of the neighborhood and I was pleasantly surprised. Spouse suggested we return...

I was in a bit of a rush and stopped by to grab a roll of sushi. My food came quickly and as I was eating I overheard some of the workers talking in Korean (I wasn’t sure if it was the owner with a coworker or just employees). I asked one of them if they were actually speaking Korean and the man responded yes!
I’m currently learning Korean and we had a bit of a conversation about it. He then offered to help me practice my Korean if I ever stop by again, which was incredibly sweet. He also helped take both my dishes and my card at the same time since I was in a bit of a rush. He said thank you and goodbye to me in Korean which just added to how cool it was!
I don’t live anywhere remotely near Ashland (about 4 hours away), unfortunately, but if I ever come back I’m absolutely visiting this restaurant again (and may just eat there every day because of how good the food and service...
