I received the worst haircut of my life from Tara at the Plaza Salon. The horrible experience began when I arrived and was told that the hairdresser I booked with was unavailable, yet nobody called to tell me. I should have seen this as a red flag and left, but I had driven over an hour for this appointment and then Tara said that she could fit me in. I explained in detail what I wanted and then showed her numerous pictures. I figured that a picture is worth more than words so I showed her over a dozen pictures that detailed the style I wanted. She appeared to be listening to me and looking at the pictures. Then she proceeded to rush through my haircut which resulted in a catastrophic cut that looked nothing like the photos. In fact it looked so completely different than the photos that I can’t believe she even saw them. Turns out she admittedly didn’t look closely. I was in shock. And to make things worse, my hair was now so short that nothing could be done to fix it. She actually shaved the back of my head!! I explained in detail what I wanted and any other hairdresser would have known just what to do. She admitted that she made a mistake and didn’t charge me. But now I have the worst haircut of my life and I’m devastated. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she was also extremely cold and unfriendly; she refused to engage in conversation with me and treated me like a head of hair instead of a conscious human sitting in her chair. I feel like someone has played a practical joke on me. The experience feels surreal. Tera also tried to justify the haircut by saying that maybe my hair was holding pain and needed to be cut off. Um, no!! This was by far the worst haircut and salon experience of my life and I’m distraught. This is the first negative review I have ever left, but I truly don’t want others to experience this. Please, if you are reading this review, don’t let Tara go anywhere near your hair. And to the salon: If one of your hairdressers can’t make an appointment, please call people to tell them in advance. Crystal is great!! I have long hair and was getting a few inches off and layers. Crystal knew exactly how to cut my hair and do the layers in a way that looked so natural and not-choppy. Her cut gave my hair really nice natural body and flow. She was also very kind and nice to chat with. Thanks Crystal!

Edit Sept 2023: I hired plaza salon to do my hair and my bridal party’s hair for my wedding back in July. While I would still always give the hair stylists themselves 5/5 stars (because they’re great!), I’d give the front desk people or whoever handles their scheduling and business-end of things 1/5 stars. They were terribly unorganized and unprofessional throughout the entire process. I booked them in January (when I had them do my engagement photoshoot hair) for my July wedding. I thought everything was good and done. Then I called them to talk details in June and they’d assumed I changed my mind and went a different direction since I hadn’t called sooner, so they canceled my reservation. They made NO ATTEMPT to contact me to confirm any of that before canceling my reservation. I had to find makeup people last minute and they were able to make it work to still do the hair. When I was there to do the trial run and pay, the woman at the front desk was extremely rude. She’d angrily ask me questions about prices and the number of their staff involved (things she should know the answers to, not me), and was just extremely rude overall. It was bizarre.

Fast forward to my wedding day and they arrived OVER AN HOUR LATE to start mine and my bridal party’s hair. It was very stressful. Everyone’s hair got done and it was fine. Like I said, they’re good with hair, just terrible with the business...

Do you want your nose ring waxed and pulled? Do you prefer talking about demons and the devil during your manicure?? Then come here! Thought it was only the manicure girl that was odd, because hair stylists were also side eyeing her during the rants. Tried out the waxing, appointment was changed the day of to a different waxer than I booked. Had no problem, Rene S took me back with a friendly hi. But quickly started walking and almost lost me in the halls. Then she didn’t say another word until my eyebrow was half waxed, didn’t even ask what shape I wanted. Didn’t like how they came out. Later tried to book another brow wax with the other waxer available, only for it to be changed day of to Rene S again. Opted out for the brows, but I should have just left. Rene S continued to absolutely GLOB wax on my face to where it was dripping down by my lip like a lip wax. She tried to pinch little parts and pull them off, it was messy with strings everywhere. She kept putting her full hand on my forehead and pushing/pulling with lots of strength, so when she completely waxed over the nose stud it pulled the whole thing very painfully. She then started to dismiss me saying it wasn’t on the piercing itself. Spent a few minutes with the other waxer Alysha (I had originally booked with) to get wax of the flat back of the nose stud. Was also offered a brow wax after all that and had to decline. The reason I was given for being changed to Rene each time was “because it didn’t look like a request.” I hope the owner calls me because this was absolutely ridiculous. My pedicure was completely normal too! Sad there’s such off energy here it’s a very convenient location! They didn’t charge me and...
