Natural Mattress Heaven — Local services in Ashland

It began a couple of years ago, when my partner and I started talking about getting a brand new king mattress. We discussed different options and concluded that we wanted to get the BEST! We researched several mattresses, all the normal brands first, and started to become aware of all the harsh carcinogenic chemicals they put into mattresses these days. The federal flame retardant regulations that surround mattress manufacturing today is insane. We wanted to get the best, most organic and natural mattress that would give us the best sleep and most important, the best health. One day in February, while we were looking around a mattress store in Medford, we asked about organic options. We were given a business card by the sales rep in the store, STEVE SHORE AT NATURAL MATTRESS HEAVEN, is what it said. Well, I loved the name, and I instantly relaxed when I saw the card. I got a good feeling (does sound strange, but I did). We were told that Steve Shore was the best in the organic mattress business space, and that if we stopped by his store, conveniently located in downtown Ashland, that he would take care of us. We knew we had to stop and see him, but we kept looking for other mattresses in the Medford area. Later that day, when asking another mattress sale rep about organic and natural options, we were given another business card, STEVE SHORE AT NATURAL MATTRESS HEAVEN. The mattress sales rep said the same thing. “Steve Shore is the best in the business, and he will take care of you. His reputation precedes him”. Now, I thought, Wow! This guy sounds amazing! We gotta check him out. Well, shortly after, we went to his store, NATURAL MATTRESS HEAVEN in downtown Ashland. And everything they said was right! We met with the kind and gracious Owner/Operator, Steve Shore and wouldn’t-chaknowit! He gave us top quality assistance and information about the mattresses we were looking for and more. These mattresses were special, different; they felt soft and comfortable, clean and perfect, instantly. No harsh checical smells. He said the mattresses use organic wool and cotton and even organic latex, with a special spring hybrid spring system that can easily be switched out or customized. All beds are customizable in several different ways from soft to med to firm to extra firm, and they come in all sizes, every size, even Cal King. I was impressed by Steve’s expertise and relaxed by his smooth, low-pressure sales approach (no pressure), and Steve’s masterful business acumen. It came from a place of authenticity, from someone who cares about what he puts in his body too. He knew everything there is to know about mattresses. Steve Shore, a Philadelphia native, certainly embodied the motto of that city, “The City of Brotherly Love.” We bought a King size mattress right away and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Our sleep has improved 10 fold, and we both can confidently say, it’s the most comfortable mattress both of us have ever owned, and maybe even ever slept in. Worth every penny. Steve Shore has been in the natural organic mattress business for over 35 years, not only that, he’s also a customer. He said he won’t sleep on any other mattress, but these special ones that’s part of the NATURAL MATTRESS HEAVEN family of selections. He has embraced a clean-living, organic & natural lifestyle; his health comes first and foremost. This guy really lives it. My better half and I agree, Steve Shore is a gentle, loving soul that cares about people, their health, the health of the planet, and, everyone who walks through that door,

Steve and his wife (owners/operators) are a delight to work with! From the start Steve approached without pressure while being open and helpful to questions. He was soft spoken too, which in a world of lots of noise that can affect one’s nervous system, was greatly appreciated.

His wife is just a sweetie, too. It was nice to have her there as my own lady was w me so it made for a balanced visit. They’re both a great team together. 😊

Product: I certainly did my research on the latex mattress that I purchased. Before discovering Steve and his wife’s store I tried to find the highest quality at the best price online. Once I called their store and spoke w Steve / got his prices, buying through them just couldn’t be beat. Definitely the best price and great quality!

Steve’s supplier had raised prices on one item and he was happy to honor the original asking price for this particular product. I didn’t even have to ask. ✨

The product itself is just fantastic. To be honest, it’s the first night I’ve had the mattress, so I haven’t slept on it yet, but while at their store I tested it enough (and trust my what my body tells me) to know it’s going to be a great experience. I’ll come back and amend this if need be:)

The organic latex has a scent, as I’m sure you’ll notice if you read some reviews or encounter them yourselves. I myself find the scent a good thing! It’s a part of the experience and tells me about the authenticity of the product. (Much like the natural scent of my high-quality woolen bedding) As it is w the bedding I’m sure it will be w the latex; the scent just wears off after a while anyways. ☺️

I highly recommend this shop if you’re looking for high quality products at great prices and high quality service that doesn’t make you feel pressured or forced. Just spent my second night on my new FORGET ME NOT mattress. WOW sooo comfortable Steven has been selling me mattresses for over twenty years. First when he was working for a mattress store in Northern Calif. Then he opened his own store but it was a natural mattress store. He opened my eyes to all the chemicals I'm sleeping on and breathing in. So I bought an organic latex mattress which I thought was really good. Then he moved to Oregon and opened a store there. I moved to Mexico and I needed another mattress and really didn't trust what I was seeing, so I called Steven and he said check the website. The new Forget ME Not caught my eye as it had coils and I asked questions. Let me say this I know Steven a really long time as we both share a desire for really high quality audio sound, and I know how his desire to find great products pushed him. He always gave me accurate advise so I trust his word. He told me about the Forget Me Not and his opinion of its exceptional comfort. So I trusted his word and had one sent to me. Most comfortable SLEEP I've ever had ( and I'm not a good sleeper ) nor a long sleeper ( 4 - 5 hours maybe ). But with this mattress I don't want to get up or out of bed. And organic Thanks...
