I walked into this nail salon simply because it was nearby. Masks were required and screens between esthetician and customer for hand work were present. Son prepped my nails for tips. He was friendly and informed me that the establishment was his families. He did a great job prepping my nails. For the application of tips and SNS, I was transferred over to a female esthetician. The female esthetician didn’t say hello or anything to me she proceeded to do or work while talking to other estheticians in the salon(who were working on other clients) instead in her native language. The female esthetician applied my tips and attempted to file them down to the shape in the picture I brought. When I informed her that she had formed more of an almond shape than oval she filed the tip off and reapplied it the way I liked. I wanted french but my nails are short so she informed me she would need to use a darker pink powder. The powder had a very pink appearance so I attempted to inform her that I was worried the nails would appear too child-like. I asked her opinion on doing a solid white instead. I asked again when she didn’t respond the first time. Finally, before she could start, I said “I am trying to ask you a question.” Her answer was an exasperated “what” followed by someone coming (who was better able to communicate in english) to help. She informed me that the pink would be not look “like cotton candy” but that my original nail line would show through even the darker tone. I said to just go with the white then. She said, pointing to my esthetician, that they’d try one nail first if i liked and I agreed. The line showed through so I said to just go with the white (of note i’ve been getting french SNS since 2015 and esthetician’s have just found the appropriate tone and application to cover the line without any issue at other salons ). She did the SNS and it came out fairly nicely. On departure, although frustrated with her interpersonal skills and lack of attempt to try, I asked her name because her work was fairly good. She ignored my question and began shouting across the room to her colleagues. She was clearly making comments about my asking her name. She did not provide it and walked by me without saying bye or making eye contact. Although the nails ended up being done fairly well and I appreciated the corrections and trails, I left the salon feeling exasperated and disrespected and I will not be subjecting myself to that type of experience by returning...
Read moreSo I went there to get my nails done, acrylic fill in with gel polish. Cool it takes about 40 minutes to get that done. They had someone experiment on me. I'm sure this guy had never done acrylic nails before. After an hour of sitting there and watching him desperately trying to make it work, (he wasn't even halfway done)I asked the lady next to me ( who had been coaching him along the whole time) to have someone step in and help, I had to be somewhere at five O clock.
I was really disappointed that no one else saw him struggling and offered to assist but also I'm sure he wasn't licensed and being experimented on really rubbed me the wrong way.
The lady who stepped in had to fix everything he did wrong which took forever, and the staff was laughing and making jokes about me (I don't speak mandarin, but I'm not stupid) Then after an hour & half when I was finally done they STILL charged me full price and the lady muttered a half apology for everything. I will NEVER go back there. I'm not an experiment. Also I was more than patient with them I never muttered an ill word. I'm okay with the fact that he was learning, but you shouldnt experiment on...
Read moreUpon my arrival I was not greeted by anyone. I waited just to be acknowledged and was abruptly asked what will I like. Once I informed the nail tech what I would like I was advised to seat in a chair which I requested to be clean and they replied it's already clean. If I request for the chair to be sanitized why become fluster in your response?? We're currently in a PANDEMIC dealing with a highly contagious virus. I'm a regular client here and the services and quality is unacceptable. I expressed my gel polish chips the next day after my service and you tell me I have to pay extra because it's something I did. It's always repetitive issues with this nail bar and it's unfair to have to feel like I'm not a valued client. Be aware before giving them...
