*To Kimberly Barron, Salon Manager: I left my review which is how my service went. What was going to be fixed?? I wrote a detailed review of what happened and my experience with your staff. I don't live in Atlanta so nothing can be done to remedy the situation. I wouldn't come back because I would not want to endure another haircut like I received and surely wouldn't do it if I was on a schedule that I was told could be met long before I even made the appointment and after. You have the issue spelled out in this detailed review. This is what happened. You were aware of the situation by what I wrote. Your husband actually was at the salon the day I was there and across from the stylist.
I want to update my review I left after leaving my appointment and having time to look over the cut. When I called to make the appointment & before purchasing the Groupon, I told them I had an event at the Zoo to do at 3:15 pm. Could I make it in time with an appointment they gave me at 1:30. "No problem." then purchased my Groupon after the first call. I even arrived at 1 pm (which I confirmed by telephone when I arrived in Atlanta after receiving a 1:30 confirmation email) so "highlights can go ahead and be started" (told on second call to salon. Told again that it would be fine.)
I arrived promptly at 1 pm. Kept waiting for at least 10-15 minutes for stylist to come and get me. He was very nice and listened to what I wanted. I told him when I have my hair short it is done as a famous person (he knew who I was talking about) which is a layered short cut. I opted to go with a shorter haircut with an emphasis on not cutting out my ears and leaving it long enough around them to tuck behind my ears which is the look I prefer. He did a good job adding lowlights to my existing highlights.
The issue came even before I left. I kept watching the time discreetly and I was getting close to 2:45 and haircut wasn't complete. Sprayed on two hair products (which you don't do on fine hair because it weighs it down) which really did nothing except give my hair no lift and laid flat. Finished and I need to take off the smock and go since it was 3 pm. Changing out of my smock, I noticed that the left side had no layers and was laying flat. I came out and looked for the stylist to get him to cut in some quick layers and couldn't find him. Used the restroom, came out and looked again and still couldn't find him. It was 3:00 and I had to leave. There was no way I was going to be at the Zoo by my appointment. Sadly I didn't make it (arrived at 3:40 pm) and people were waiting on me to do the activity. I had to apologize for them setting up something especially for me that I didn't get there in time even after I asked multiple times before purchasing the Groupon if I would and was promised I would.
That night I examined my cut more closely in the mirror. I tried (probably miserably) to cut in some layers on the left side. I then looked at the back and my hairline was an uneven mess. I used scissors to level the line out and shaved my neck. He used an electric razor somehow at the end of the cut and I just assumed he was cleaning up my neck. He didn't. I arrived back home (I was visting Atlanta) and washed my hair and using a light mousse, thankfully was able to style my hair to look more how I wanted it. (Don't put alot of product on fine hair. It just weighs it down and makes it heavy with too much product.) I also realized I did not get a "conditioning treatment" as was part of the Groupon. I did tip the stylist VERY WELL which I honestly now regret given the problems I had missing my Zoo appointment (which he may not have been told about) and the multiple issues...
Read moreDO NOT come here if you are anything but white. They are racist and will blame you if they make a mistake.
I have gotten balayage for years and tried this place as I'm new to the area. I bought a haircut & balayage on Groupon for an "advanced hairstylist" after reading all the positive reviews. Robyn seemed like she was very confident in achieving the look I asked for, but after 4.5 hrs, I ended up with chunky highlights from the roots down. She even asked if I wanted to add color to the bangs for which I said only at the ends. I had gotten a darker color and it was difficult to tell with the lighting, so I didn't notice until I left. When I got home, the color was vibrant over the entire bangs area with chunky highlights from the roots down. The only thing that looked good was the color and what I thought was the haircut (read on).
I went back for a redo 3 days later, and the owner, David, came over to clarify what I wanted. I showed him the balayage picture, and they simply put a darker glaze over the roots to cover up the color and painted over only the top half of the hair to convert the highlights to balayage. She didn't even touch the bottom half. At first I thought my haircut was okay; however, after Robyn washed my hair, I noticed the ends of the haircut were uneven & choppy! After another 3 hrs, it was still not balayage nor what I wanted but slightly better than the chunks of highlights from the early 2000s. At this point, they asked if I liked it, and I said "yes" just to avoid being there for another 8hrs.
I requested a refund from Groupon after this hair color & cut fiasco, and the owner, David, calls me and asks, "Do you even know what the difference is between highlights, ombre, and balayage?" And proceeded to say, "It must be subjective and a difference in opinion" when I said I have chunky stripes down my head and NOT balayage which is supposed to start mid-shaft downward. He refused to give a refund but offered for me to come back for another redo as "I can do balayage in my sleep." At this point, I am not confident in their ability to fix this and would like to avoid spending another 8+hrs at a place that treats customers with disrespect.
First of all, as a business owner I would've worked on the redo myself to ensure the client was happy or at least walked Robyn through every step. Second, own up to your own mistakes if you realize the desired results are less than ideal and clearly not what the client asked for. Third, do not belittle the client especially if it was your mistake.
It has been an utter nightmare trying to get a refund as the owner is refusing and saying I "don't deserve a refund" even though they are the ones who messed up and still could not achieve the balayage look that I wanted.
Now I have to spend another $300+ to get a color correction AND fix the choppy haircut. I have never been so gaslit by a business, let alone one that is supposedly a high-end salon in Buckhead.
I wasn't going to post this review as I understand how negative reviews can impact businesses; however, I have given them many chances to fix this and after the owner blatantly said I don't "deserve" a refund, I absolutely will share this, so other clients won't have to suffer through the same unpleasant interactions.
If you're considering coming here and you're not white, RECONSIDER. They are dishonest people and will gaslight you if...
Read moreGoing to this salon was the WORST DECISION I have ever made. I was there from 11 am until 9 pm at night and in the end my hair ended up looking much worse than when I came in. I made an appointment to get my hair colored a not so light gray, I showed pictures and said this is what I want but just not so light because I am pale. David recommends I get silver blue highlights and that he is going to make the rest of my hair dark, little did I know he meant black. They dyed my hair black with barely noticeable dark blue highlights. When I explained this is not what I wanted, he then began to argue with me and telling me that this is what I wanted and that my hair was not black it was dark brown. At this point I am frazzled because my hair looks like a witch and he tells me to pull up a picture of what I want, I pull up the pictures I had selected and he says he can do it, he just has to bleach my hair. I say okay and he then gets another woman to bleach my hair. Because of the fact that my hair has just been dyed black, he has to bleach my hair twice in order to be able to see the gray, which is fine. However, the bleach burned my scalp and made it hard to breathe and see, at this point I am crying because of the bleach and I have been there for hours and my hair looks and feels like hay. The process went on between blow drying and bleaching for most of the day, and he didn't even do it himself. He just occasionally checked in to see how it was going while he dealt with other people. Then when finally all the bleach is in, he beings to apply the silver color I originally wanted, but of course he runs out of color and literally starts mixing colors together to get the color he used on other parts of my hair. He realizes that this isn't going to work and sends one of his employees to get more hair dye, by the way, NONE of this was communicated to me. I had to figure it out while they were whispering in the corner. Here comes the best part though, the dye didn't even stick because my hair had been destroyed throughout the day and in the end I went back to brown just so I didn't end up walking out of that place looking like a broom. Not only did I not get even close to the hair that I wanted, BUT THEY CHARGED ME OVER $400. Their reasoning was, and I quote "he is not charging you for as much as he should've." My hair looks and feels horrible and I now have to do intense bleach treatment to make sure my hair doesn't fall out. All in all, this was the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had in a salon and I really recommend that you DO NOT GO to this place for any...
