Griffin Track is Georgia Tech’s track and field facility. It’s pretty nice, clean and seems to be very well kept.
I came here a few days for a track meet so got to experience it exactly for its use. It was a nice environment- there’s a lot of seating right along the track towards one end, but fenced surrounding a majority of it to protect the athletes.
There’s a sizeable section of metal bleachers set higher up in the stadium for better viewing. But there’s always the risk of how hot the bleachers get when the sun is blazing- that Atlanta heat don’t play.
If you don’t want to sit in the bleachers, I’d recommend bringing your own chairs if you don’t want to stand the whole time. There are plenty of bathrooms (port-a-potties but they’re nicer ones), and a small concession stand but there’s not much for food close by within walking distance so I’d bring your own stuff.
I think the coolest part is how Georgia Techs campus is set right across the freeway from Metro ATL, so the backdrop of the track are soaring skyscrapers and it’s a whole vibe. I haven’t visited many college track facilities but this one seemed...
