If I could give this stylist and her place of business zero stars, I would, as it is what they deserve after the poor quality of service and the horrid experience they provided.
Whenever I called this location my calls went unansweredâeven after scheduling my appointment.
When I arrived it was unclear and confusing were to park, so I consequently reached out to the hair salon for guidanceâa multitude of calls continued to go unanswered, left a voicemail and texted ownerâno response. Mind you, I got there an hour early. Without any response, I eventually had to get out of my car, within five minutes my car was bootedâthis could have been avoided if the stylist simply answered the phone or responded to my text, which asked for instructions regarding parking.
To make matters worse, her suite wasnât easy to find, also called for insights on how to reach her establishmentâno answer. It is located in an oddly designed space that that is full of dogs roaming free without leashes, so potential clients beware. Additionally, the ownerâs dog ran out of her place of business, startling me, as it aggressively ran towards me barkingâit was unleashed. She did eventually leash it butâit was an unpleasant experience to say the least. And yes, the owner has a dog that is unleashed that roams free in her establishment. She also managed to poke me fairly hard in the eye, which really hurt (I believe she scraped my eye with her nail)âhours after the fact.
Another thing that showed poor customer service is that after causing my car to get booted, being harassed by her dog and other loose dogs in the vicinity, she changed the price on my hair style after rendering servicesâincreasing the price to $40 more than the listed price online. She also doesnât take credit cards, even though you are required to list a credit card when booking the serviceâwas forced to pay using CashApp.
With that said, she did walk me to a space that was from dogs, so I could get back to my carâthat I paid a handsome fee to get the boot removed off of. I am very unhappy with my experience and will not return. I do not recommend going here, at all.
UPDATE: Four days later my eye still hurt pretty bad, so I had to go see an optometrist--who ran tests on my eye. The optometrist stated the beautician scraped the bottom and top of my eye with her nail! This aggravated several nerves in my eye, on top of inflaming them. With that said, I had to buy medicine for my eye, so it could heal. Also, I could not sleep multiple nights due to the pain from the damage to my eye being so intense. The doctor visit and the medicine were about another $100. This hair appointment was unbelievably and unnecessarily expensive, overall--I, seriously, do not recommend anyone going...
Read moreIâve been visiting with Healthy Hair Connection for over 2-3 years and first let me say this goes beyond hair. This is therapy. She doesnât just take care of my locs, she helps look after my soul. Her and her precious dog are why I make the drive every few weeks. I read the one star review and Iâm sitting here with my mouth open! I donât leave a lot of reviews but I do when itâs important. You will find one other hair review Iâve done and itâs been viewed thousand of times. I donât play about this experience. Locs are a journey of love.
She is experienced, professional and a huge part of the Atlanta hair scene.. On top of that - itâs on the belt line and the community they have with the businesses, owners and pets is safe and adorable. I have never felt threatened or even a hint of anxiety.
Matter of fact. Let me get personal. I have horrible anxiety and a sensitive scalp so Iâm no walk in the park as a client and this is MY SANCTUARY.
Just want to leave you with the overwhelming confidence I have typing this. Be sure to notice all the 5 stars.
Parking has signs at every spot on instructions to pay and there is a parking deck. Itâs downtown. Parking isnât expensive at all compared with other locations downtown. I literally bring my kiddos down here as a treat every few months. They are waiting on the next visit and they are there with me for hours (I have Sisterlocks and a lot of them đ). My boys at last visit were 17 and 13 and autistic (and yep Iâm an helicopter mom lol) and they have been all around this business with absolutely no negative experiences EVER.
My hair is healthy and beautiful and I know that is because of this salon. ...
Read moreBeware of this stylist combining your locks without notifying or consenting with you. I was a transfer client & explained to her my experience of not being advised of my locks being merged from the previous stylist & she agreed like she understood & would never do such a thing.
Yet upon the last few appointments I realized she had been combining my locks overtime with each apointment as well & NEVER stated any thinning or concerns as to why she would do so. Evertime I was in her chair I would ask how's the health of my hair & she would say my hair is fine & flourishing. SO WHY WOULD YOU COMBINE THEM?!
So when she asked me upon our last appointment what's the plan with my hair, I stated I don't want my locks merged. She then immediately got defensive & gas lit me stating that the previous stylist must have did it & that she wouldn't have a reason to do such a thing.
As I continued to push back & showed her the extreme merge of several rows she obviously combined she then back peddled & admitted they were merged, then apologized. Then told me I would have to take them down myself although she was the cause.
Thank goodness my locs aren't fully developed otherwise it would have been a hell of a process. Needless to say I won't be returning because I don't trust her to touch my head ever again.
If you decide to go, be sure you're watching her every move. YOU'VE...
