The formal, original name of this park, named after it’s namesake, is Joel Hurt Memorial Park. The original fountain was erected where the newish fountain is now located called “from the ashes.” Mr. Hurt was the dreamer and constructor of Inman Park, Druid Hills, and the impetus for the majority of downtown Atlanta’s footprint. Beautiful park space with plenty of seating. Can be a peaceful place to sit by the water fountain and unwind —when there is not others present, playing loud music, disrupting the peace.

I’m glad that the park was redesigned, and constructed perfectly for the area. Right on the campus of GSU, so plenty of students can be seen utilizing the space throughout the school semester.
