Chef Skiz was one of the most down to earth and welcoming people I have ever met. Chef Skiz is a master of his craft and taught us many things during the class. He taught us where cinnamon comes from and how saffron is harvested. He is also a great story teller and shared his experiences and travels with us. I enjoyed that he printed out the recipes for all of the dishes we made so that we could try to replicate them at home. Will try to make those pakoras again! I highly recommend this cooking class because it was a lot of fun, we gained a lot of knowledge on preparing the dishes and had the chance to enjoy the delicious food we prepared. 5 stars all around for the experience, atmosphere and quality. My reason for fewer stars was the setting - which was in his basement with multiple health and safety violations (e.g. extension cords for the hot plate to trip over, blown fuses, a rocking tower of hot portable ovens and microwaves that threatened to topple each time the doors were pulled open.) Not knowing Malik before the experience, it was a little scary to descend into his basement from an outside set of stairs, the only exit.
