Reflecting back, it has been a truly unique and enriching learning experience working at this establishment.
When I first met him, I assumed he was a part of the LGBTQIA+ community due to his flamboyant mannerisms and eccentric fashion taste. That couldnât be further from the truth. David is happily married and a well respected member of his Mormon church so, I realized that I had areas of growth in terms of deconstructing my heteronormative biases.
While working with him, I asked him why he hated gypsies. He proceeded to tell me why citing various cultural stereotypes and anecdotal experiences. Through working with him, I got to learn that even people with his kind demeanor may not be as far along on their anti racist journeys, and all of us can do more to help others to learn.
Working here, I saw David truly exemplify excellent customer service, showing kindness, warmth, and sensitivity toward clientsâ needs, even clients that he disliked or races he did not prefer. He even entertained flirtatious banter with homosexual men, going above and beyond to ensure he pleasured them.

   Read moreHorrible customer service the owner of this store sold my friend and her spouse a pair of shoes that were $500 told them that that particular brand runs a little big in size and that it would still be fine for them to get one size smaller then the normal shoe size and when they got the shoes home they realized he had lied and actually sold them a pair of shoes that were 2 sizes too small and did not fit whatsoever. When they called to ask about a refund or exchange he told then that they only had 7 days to do it and it was already past the 7 days, Now from my experience the only stores who give people such a short time frame for returns are ones that usually do shady things and know that people will keep trying to make returns so they shorten the time to screw everybody over. My husband went back to David and asked to return them, AND offered to buy different, more expensive brand flats. Davidâs response was, âThere is nothing I can do for youâ! His argument was, that if he sold them for $500 (the actual cost was $400) that means he bought them for $250 and that he is not willing to lose it. Pls note that along with these flats my husband bought other items and spent up to $2000 on that day. We were also repeat customers up to that point. But apparently $200 is much more important to David than his reputation and returning customers that would bring much more profit than $200 he would lose, had he dealt with this situation differently!!
