I'm new in town and I only get my haircut once a year, maybe twice. I scoured through Yelp reading through all of the reviews to find the right hair dresser who would listen to my needs. Fortunately, I found Charlie who had tons of reviews not only complimenting his work, but also noting the fact that he took the time to listen to his client. I just had my hair cut with him and I am beyond happy. I was 10 minutes late to the appointment, yet he was so kind and understanding and greeted me with a huge smile. He never once made me feel like I was a burden for being late. Even when his next client came on time and had to wait-he still said everything in a happy tone. (I ended up apologizing to the client after the haircut, telling him that he had to wait because I was late. I didn't want the client to blame Charlie for making him wait, when it wasn't his fault.) The hair wash was great and very thorough. I actually never had someone comb through my hair during the wash, but it made me feel better knowing the conditioner was getting through every strand. I greatly appreciated that Charlie didn't comment about how dead my hair was. Almost every salon I've been to, the stylist has always mentioned how my hair is so damaged and that I need to take a lot off. I understand they just care about healthy hair, but I already know it's quite damaged. I emphasized that I really like volume in my hair so we were getting long layers done since it all had grown out way too long where it was just weighing my head down. Charlier mentioned that if I wanted that volume that it isn't exactly from tons of layers, but more so "feathering" of the hair. He showed me and I actually love it. My head feels so much lighter, but I instantly saw the results of his technique. He said that I would notice it more once I style it myself so I'm very excited for hair wash day. After almost 4 years of sticking with one upscale hair stylist in LA, I recently visited Charlie at Salon Uni during a trip to Seattle for a long due haircut. I was pretty nervous as I don't like letting anyone touch my hair. And when I would let my LA hair stylist work on my hair, I provide minimal input because the experts know best.

After researching ALL of the salons in the Seattle area spanning to Bellevue, I'm so glad I found Salon Uni. I was beyond impressed with my experience.

I prefer going to Korean or Japanese hair stylists because from my experience their training and how they approach hairstyling is just way more advanced than most high-end salons.

Although the price of his haircuts ($100+tip) is higher than most haircuts, trust me friends the investment is well worth it. And how often do you even get a haircut (not trim) anyways? Having a true hair artist like Charlie work on your hair will literally change your life.

Charlie has said that my hair is going to look even more beautiful about 2 weeks after the haircut. But honestly, I've been having only great hair days since my haircut from him.

I went to see Charlie for a digital perm, which is not a service that seems to be widely available in this area. He had advised me that it would be a long process but that the results were much more long-lasting and natural than with a regular perm, which I appreciated because this has been my experience in the past also. Charlie is very meticulous, detail-oriented and thorough, taking time with each step to achieve the perfect result. He listened to my input but also gave gentle guidance about what he thought would be best. I am very happy with the results and the fact that my hair feels healthy and strong.
