Well this is my most recent visit, it ISN’T my first visit to lunchbox laboratory. In fact my story dates all the way back to 2009 when it was on 15th Ave., Northwest. There was a lovable half of the shack that served delicious food such as burgers, shakes and flavored tots. Tragically in late 2010 or even early 2011 chef Scott Simpson left us early. I honestly thought that that was going to be the last of delicious burgers in the Seattle area. Then to my delight Scott’s business partner continued on with a brick-and-mortar building that was massive at it’s 5000 ft.² square area. Upon hearing of the building I am mediately went down to investigate. And I was pleasantly surprised that the tradition continued. Fast forward 8 years to yesterday. The LL has been successful over the years to open new locations. One of which was in Bellevue! The hostess with the mostest sat us down quickly on this Tuesday afternoon. Rudy was our server who simply killed all day. Loved that guy! Our food choices were fabulous. The experimental burgers and drinks were not available today as they were still finalizing. Regardless, their tried-and-true menu rocks! Thanks, LL. We’ll be back. Probs bring our friends.

This is a wait staffed, table service type Lunchbox Laboratory restaurant. Its open until 10pm which was perfect for my hamburger and fries craving little one hungry from hours of playing at the downtown park (we arrived at around 8pm). The staff was quick, attentive and friendly and the burgers were good. The fries were just ok (fries at Ivar's Bothell is still the best). I was hating on the loud music and other noises in the dining area though. The restaurant had on Amy Winehouse and though I'm a huge fan, the volume was just too much that it felt oppressive and we couldn't really enjoy our food. Mind you the restaurant was almost empty with just my three-unit family at one table and two other small groups. There was also the noise from the a/c box overhead which I wonder if the staff was trying to drown out with Amy's music. It was so loud the wait staff taking our order couldn't hear us clearly using our normal indoor voices =( Anyway, if you like to enjoy your food in relative quiet or you just plainly hate loud noises this is not a place for you. We won't be back ourselves.

We have eaten at Lunchbox Laboratory multiple times and had very good meals with very good service. This was no exception. They specialize in burgers and make interesting ones. The specials are called "experiments" and are often good choices. They have many patty choices, Kobe beef, two vegan choices, a chicken breast or DORK (Duck + Pork). They have a large selection of sides, but my wife and I always get the tater tots. You can also get a gluten free bun,, lettuce wrap or grilled cheese bun as an option. I forget that their ice tea is a fruity one, since I like the real thing. Anyway today my wife tried one of their experiments, a Taco Burger, using Taco seasoned beef and appropriate toppings. She liked it. I had one of their standard burgers, The Smoker, which comes with smoked gouda. I also liked my choice. At each table they include a collections of salts and condiments and I found the Bonache Piri sauce was quite good on tots.

I've eaten at this establishment quite a few times, but have NEVER received this POOR of customer service and am highly disgusted by the way our table was treated. I ate here last year during the same event and did not have this level of poor service at all. We were at a conference at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. We called ahead two weeks for reservations and let them know that there was an event going on and that it would likely be busy during their lunch our that day. We made a reservation for 10 people, that got extended by 3 more. They were polite in letting us keep our table of ten and seating the others of us at a table next to it, not a problem at all. We arrived around 12:15/12:30ish and order our meals very quickly. It took over a half an hour to get waters and 2 sprites that were ordered at our table. Our waitress was friendly to start out with and then she ultimately completely avoided our table. Since our food was taking such a long time, we all ordered burgers and appetizer to share, one of the girls politely checked on our meal and wanted to make sure we were going to get our food in time. We were not rude we just wanted to make sure we were getting served. Since we were in a slight time crunch, not horrible, but we did need to get back to our conference we alerted to what we thought was the "manager." He talked over us and told us he knew we were running short on time and that there was nothing he could do about our food coming out so slow. What was really bothering us was that we ordered our food before MOST of the other guests showed up and they were getting their food before us - LONG before us. He then told us "the longer we talk to him and keep him away from the window, the longer it will be to get our food and for him to service anyone else." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! This is not OUR FAULT. If there is something going on in the kitchen and you're falling behind you need to let your guests know, especially when you know they need to get back to their event, which he was well aware of. We finally got our food and we had to ask for boxes for our food because we didn't have any time to eat before going back to the conference. Our burgers took well over an hour to get to us. By the time we got back to the conference our food was cold. I paid $20 to split a burger with a girl friend, sprite, and an appetizer. The "manager" then came back and said "OH MY GOSH, I WAS GOING TO COMP THAT, BUT I SEE IT'S ALREADY BEEN RUNG. I'M SO SORRY." And then he walked away.....didn't offer us a gift card or void our cards being processed. I used to love coming here, but after that experience I wouldn't recommend going back and would like to warn others of their terrible service. It seems to me like someone somewhere needs to take responsibility and not make it their patrons fault for coming in to order their lunch. We also weren't the only table this happened to. I don't know what went wrong in the kitchen on Saturday, but that was completely unacceptable. The 4 of us at our table want our money back or some sort of reimbursement for the lack of service we were provided. I can tell from other reviews this place is going downhill, so I'm assuming management is poor. They don't deserve more than 1 star for this interaction, and I'm happy to not give them my money if they treat their...

The most horrendous service I have ever had, and I have spent 30 minutes in a fast food drive through before.

We had a reservation made in advance for 60. Only about half showed. We were able to order drinks and appetizers quickly. It took AN HOUR for drinks to arrive, and though we were assured appetizers would be right out, they did not arrive for another 30 minutes, at least.

I then found out that half of our party had had orders taken for their meals, while half of us were completely left out and missed. We had to corner the waiter to get the rest of the orders in. Over 90 minutes into our reservation.

Some members of our party started getting their meals, while none of us who ordered appetizers earlier had gotten those yet. HOW??? Those who ordered apps got to watch people eat burgers and fries and tots while we had nothing.

I wanted to order a second drink, but the server was so inattentive and I didn't want to wait another HOUR to get it.

Absolutely ridiculous! The food isn't even good, and they don't know how to mix a drink. Not worth waiting 2+ hours for food. That's apparently what you're in for when you come here.

We brought a big group ready to spend money and make merry and Lunchbox Lab acted like they didn't care about raking in a profit. Unbelievable. My friend said the burgers here were the best in town, but I wouldn't know as I had to leave for a previous engagement 3 hours into the night. Thankfully, my friends offered me bits from their plates when they heard I hadn't even gotten my appetizer. I feel great eating leftovers at a restaurant.

Truly truly terrible and I will never recommend this place to group looking to book space. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the low quality service was abysmal and I will never go back even if someone else is buying dinner. Not worth it.

EDIT: Lowered to 1 star. A friend was able to bring me my meal to go. However, the cheese curds were missing and despite being charged $4 to add chicken to my salad, that was forgotten too. What kind of restaurant can't even get a salad right? The portions were tiny and not at all worth the price. I reccomend not...

I personally had a very poor interaction with the worker there today ( 2/2/2022). To give you a little background story, I had placed a online delivery order through the lunchbox website on 2.1.2022. That order was placed one day in advanced and had about 18 items in that order. When the order arrived, I was organizing the items and putting my coworkers names on them when I noticed two of the Lab Chop Chop Salads wasn't there. I was frustrated but understood that this was a big order and things can easily be missed. So, after a few minutes of organizing the items and double checking to make sure I was missing those orders, I went to call the store to see if I can go pick it up. I call and they agree to make the lab chop chop, when I got in the store and the worker handed me the items he then says " Just to let you know those salads were already in the bags, but that's ok." That sentence took me by surprise and I said back "Well, I double checked and it wasn't there that's why I called you informing you that those salads were missing." He then looks at me and says " Well you ordered two lab chop chops right? those were in the bag, but like I said its okay." I then responded "Two? No I ordered 4 Lab Chop Chops" I pulled out the receipt and showed it to him. He then just brushes it off like its nothing and says "you're all good then, have a nice day."

I usually don't write review posts EVER, but this interaction really made me upset. I never once yelled at them over the phone or in person or even said anything snarky. This was a delivery order so why would I lie and go out of my way to go pick up the Salads? I tried to be as understanding as I could but, when those words came out of his mouth it just made me feel like he was attacking me and telling me that I was a liar. As someone who never been to lunchbox, this was a really poor first experience and I'm not sure I'll be coming back or ordering...
