My leashed dog and I were walking through the village as we often do , visiting with many of the shop owners who have become friends to us. As my dog Buddy and I walked past this shop, Buddy saw a dog inside this shop (which had just closed) and walked up to the front door to "investigate" as he always does when we encounter other doggos in the village. The pup inside began barking at Buddy through the locked glass doors. Just then a tall older thin man THREW something at the doors and Buddy jumped back in a protective move. This guy then comes to the door and proceeds to FLIP ME OFF! HE GAVE ME THE MIDDLE FINGER and yelled through the doors telling me to "get off my property". Buddy and I were standing on the sidewalk as this idiot is threatening us and glaring us down. I asked him what his problem was as he continued to flip me off again. He went to unlock the doors, I guess to come outside to confront me, but decided not to. I asked him if he had a mental deficiency, as this would be the only thing that would excuse his behaviour. A woman behind the counter looked over but did nothing to call this guy off. I told him he had no right to treat us in such a manner and that he did not belong in our business community, and that I was going to report his actions to the Chamber of Commerce. At this point he walked behind the counter and attempted to hide from me as I was asking his name and duties in the shop. He continued to ignore me so my doggo and I left. Two ladies that were visiting Big Bear and were about to go into the shop just before it closed said they had observed what had happened and asked how someone like him could actually have a business here. They actually said they were sorry at how I'd been treated, and that they would never set foot in that shop.
This man DOES NOT REPRESENT THE MAJORITY OF THE BUSINESS OWNERS NOR THE RESIDENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY!! SHAME ON YOU SHOP OWNER FOR SUCH RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR!!
I can only wait until his behaviour drives business away to the point where they shut down and allow a more deserving business to set up shop at this location. I am embarrassed that such a business owner has set up shop in the village.
This being said, I am NOT telling anyone to avoid this shop. Make your own decision as to wether or not you patronize this establishment. I won't. This shop is not representative of the many other businesses in the village or other areas of Big Bear that are "folk friendly" that will be happy see you, even if you don't spend any money there!
The only thing I have to say now is WELCOME TO BIG BEAR AND HAVE A...
Read moreThe man and woman in this shop are rude and have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in Big Bear. I have purchased so much for our cabins in Big Bear and like to support local businesses, but I will personally never step foot in here again! Neither the man or woman acknowledged my presence either time I visited the shop, and never even talked to eachhother, it seemed like they hated being there. They were looking at their computers the entire time, not once asking if their customers needed anything. When the man did leave his computer, it was only to walk past me to go into a back room. No greeting, no assistance, NOTHING! Well, he actually did tell me I couldn’t bring my cup of ice in on my 3rd attempt. I told him,” but it’s just ice”, and he didn’t care that a grown woman had a cup of ICE with a lid- “it’s still not allowed”. I walked right out and vowed to never again step foot in there again, I’ll gladly support the friendly...
Read moreI would not recommend this place to anyone. My visit here was not a good experience at all. Though thier item maybe nice but their staff is horrible. My family and I came into this place for shopping and I felt like we were being watched the whole time. I do t use the race card at all but never in my life have I felt targeted. My daughter which is 3 years old was playing with their Bennie that had a light on it which i was interested to buy for her. A staff member came up very aggressive and began to turn them off, and rudely said don't play with them. Lady she is 3 and a that's what children do. I was turning them off behind my daughter so there was no need for that at all. Perhaps they should have a sign that says "no pets and children ." To make it worse my daughter left her sunglasses inside and my wife went back inside to get them a staff member was just staring at her to make sure she wasn't shop lifting. Wow never again will...
