Dr. William Numa – Boston Facial Plastic Surgeon — Local services in Boston

Dr. Numa is a master of his craft, first and foremost. He and his staff (Corey) have incredible bedside manner and are so warm and welcoming every time I go in, it’s like visiting friends— it’s almost sad that the results of Dr. Numa’s work lasts so long because I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like— but that’s a testament to his success. At the recommendation of a since retired surgeon I used to go to, I first made an appointment with Dr. Numa last year for lip augmentation. As most people should be, I’ve always been particular about the qualifications of the people I’m going to that will be doing any sort of cosmetic enhancement to my face. I wouldn’t say I have a necessarily unique lip shape, but it’s definitely one that requires a different approach than that typical pattern of injection that we tend to see on most people— it was always really important to me that my lips don’t look unnatural and that the placement of filler compliments their shape while also keeping their integrity. So when I say that Numa is a master of what he does— it’s because I have never been so pleased with the results as of my visits to him and impressed with the eye for detail he has proven to have when it comes to what will look best and how to achieve it. I’m absolutely, for lack of any other term, obsessed with the results of my most recent visit. The pictures below are from a few days after the injections (and with some lipstick on as a disclaimer). To note, too, is that in the past and at other hands, it has taken much longer for the results to show, for the filler to settle, for swelling and discomfort to go away. That has never been an issue after leaving Dr. Numa’s practice. I didn’t know that it would be possible to have such a quick recovery time and be so satisfied with the results so soon after injection— always thinking it was normal to be talking a bit funny for a week or so. But that’s, again, a testament to his skill— gorgeous results and with an impressive turn around time. Besides my love for my experiences with lip augmentation— I did recently get Botox for the first time ever a few days ago by him. As you can imagine, I was pretty nervous— I’ve never had it done before! I didn’t know if it was going to hurt, if I’d regret the way it turned out, any of that. BUT I could not be more pleased. I spoke with him about the concerns of being able to move my face still how I wanted— the focus of the injection location to target those 11s that the summer really insists upon bringing out— and not wanting to lose the ability to emote as much as I do. He adjusted the amount of units based on my apprehension and truly, I could not be happier. If I didn’t flaunt his work and brag to friends how much I love what he’s accomplished on my face, you would never be able to tell— except for the fact that I don’t look like I’m scowling as much. I cannot express how incredible my experiences with Dr. Numa have been and I cannot recommend his services enough to any and all that will listen. There are no words to fully describe how amazing my experience has been with Dr Numa’s practice. For 22 years I have been stuck with a large, thick, hairless skin graft that took up a large area of my upper lip, that was put on after a severe incident. I have had many surgeons and groups of surgeons over the years look at it and tell me it could not be removed because of the size, shape and location, at least without causing a ridiculous lift to my lip. Additionally, I had a noticeable cleft in the edge of my lip attached to the graft which only recently another surgeon had looked at and told me he could not fix. My only realistic hope when I met Dr Numa was that he might be able to fix the cleft that I had and was rather taken aback when he told me he thought he could remove the whole scar and start from scratch!

Dr Numa was very accommodating by allowing me to have a follow-up meeting to talk through the exact plan in detail before the surgery and I became confident that there was a good path to removing the graft but kept my expectations as realistic as possible as to what the final results would be because of the complexity of the surgery.

Dr Numa was not only was able to remove the entire skin graft but was able to reconstruct my lip so perfectly you would never know the graft was ever there without any lift whatsoever. He also cleaned up all the scar tissue everywhere and fixed the cleft by stitching a severed muscle back together. The results are truly miraculous and have exceeded my wildest expectations of what I believed was possible.

Corey who handles the administration was also wonderful. She was kind, helpful, encouraging and genuinely supportive throughout the whole process. Dr Numa himself was also very kind, attentive, he listened to all my concerns and talked me through all the possible options so I could really make an informed decision. The experience felt far more personal than anywhere else I have experienced and I felt that they really cared about helping to fix my disfigurement.

SCAM SCAM SCAM ATTENTION! You are looking at a scam here. I am telling you the fact, and it's at your own risk visiting the clinic. I went there on Sep 21st, 2017 for botox injection. This unethical guy William Numa suggested me to take 240 unit of botox on my jaw. I would have been dead if I took his suggestions. But I was stupid enough to think that if I do not take the botox, 600 dollars deposit would be gone. So I insisted on taking 120 units, which I found out later taking 120 units was still insanely large amount. Normally it should be 40 units(I am 5'7 male, and my masseter is normal. Please search online and consult other doctors for evidence, and don't listen to this wicked guy who received his doctoral degree from South America Colombia.

Numa's malpractice upset me. However, WHAT ANGERED ME MORE was that he did not let me see the amount he used for injection. He threw away the botox bottle before I could check what brand and what amount he used. I was very certain he cheated on the amount too.

There were many more unpleasant details about Numa and his beautiful office staff. I do not want to waste my time writing on those. Just DO NOT GO HERE.

In the end, I went out with a 1920.00 dollar bill. If I went with his suggestions, it would have been 3840.00 dollars. Four thousand dollars for simple jaw botox injection.
