Frank Darling — Local services in Boston

My journey with Frank Darling started with a stunning engagement ring (shoutout to Alice, the designer!) I proposed with from the NYC Tribeca studio. From the initial consultation, to the design and creation phase, the process was seamless! However, given that I lived in MA, meant that I took the 3+ hours trek to NYC to to pick out the stone and style of the ring. But during my consultation, my designer told me that Frank Darling would be opening a studio in Boston relatively soon! I was so excited about the news because that meant when it was time for us to get wedding bands, we could simply make the 10 mins drive to the Boston location! Fast forward to August of this year, my partner and I set up an appointment to look at wedding bands together and we got matched with another AMAZING designer, Emmy, who was so patient, knowledgeable, and helpful with finding a style that would match seamlessly with my partner's engagement ring. As we were quite indecisive, we sat on the different styles we had picked out for a few months and totally forgot about it because we were busy planning our wedding. Fast forward a few more months to November, and as we were finalizing our wedding plans, we realized we didn't have wedding bands. I emailed Emmy and she was able to fit us in for a quick 30 min appointment the same day to take another look at the designs. We placed an order the very night in hopes that it would ready and delivered to us in time for our wedding a month and a half out. Initially anticipating that the ring would be delivered in 3-4 weeks, it actually arrived exactly two weeks after placing the order! Choosing our wedding rings was one of the easiest parts of planning our wedding, and it's in no small part due to Grace.

Grace is truly a bespoke designer who takes the time to get to know her couples. My fiancée and I came in with a loose-ish vision of what we wanted and Grace not only matched our excitement, but also took the time to ask us about our story, our lives, and the details of our wedding day. She got to know us as individuals and a couple, which allowed her to create something that truly represents who we are. We were both amazed at the level of customizability, from the metal and inscription styles to the number of diamonds and the specific degree of the curve on my fiancée's ring. The options seemed limitless, yet never overwhelming, because Grace took the time to understand us.

The entire process was smooth and quick. We received the CAD renderings ahead of schedule, and the rings were ready a week early, just inside of a month from start to finish. I picked them up yesterday and they are absolutely STUNNING. And they fit perfectly! My fiancée's low-profile engagement ring presented a little challenge, but the customized curve is perfect. The way the two rings stack together makes them look like they were always meant to be a pair. It was so hard to take them off -- we can't wait for our wedding day so we can wear them for good!

The whole experience was a joy, and Grace was right there with us the whole way. I love wearing jewelry and would love to work with her again to bring some of my other ring...

I always knew that, when the time came, I wanted a ring that was unique to me (hopefully asymmetrical), but still classic enough that it wouldn't stand out too much. On top of that, I also wanted a ring that was lower-set and was unwilling to purchase a natural diamond.

Even though I had some pretty specific standards, I had a lot of trouble finding ready-made designs that helped me visualize my entire vision. After looking for what felt like a lifetime, I eventually accepted that I would have to go with a custom design, which was an avenue I hoped to avoid. For someone like me, who struggles with making decisions, the idea of embarking on such a detailed process was extremely stressful. However, once I found Frank Darling (and fell in love with their lower profile settings) I knew it was time to move forward.

From the moment I scheduled a consultation with Emmy, my partner and I felt so much stress fall off our shoulders. Her expertise, enthusiasm, and low-pressure approach were absolutely critical throughout all of this, and allowed us to indulge in the fun of the process rather than get overwhelmed. In every moment, I truly felt like Emmy and her team cared about bringing our vision to life. We eventually arrived at a design that perfectly embodied everything I wanted, and I am so excited that, starting this holiday season, I get to wear it forever!
