I stumbled upon a Beacon Hill Bakery pop up that was at the Liberty Hotel. I got a half dozen of the regular sized paczki from Matt the owner. He was such a delight and as he was putting the beautiful packaging together he explained the history of the pastry. I got a kick out of knowing I was “eating like the Polish aristocracy.” It was very informative listening to all the fun facts about it. He also laid out all the nutritional facts. You can tell how much love and care he puts into his paczkis. I brought them home to the family and it was the a big hit! The kids loved them and we finished them quickly. Read moreMy friend told me about this spot and I randomly found it in Beacon Hill. I tried a Polish doughnut for the first time here and I was quite impressed. The dough is slightly fermented, which adds a nice depth of flavor and chewiness compared to regular donuts. The tart jam filling and the sweet sugar coating balance each other well.
