One Medical is limited and not worth it, especially if you ever need to see a specialist. Need a referral? Good luck. That was such an awful experience. They gave me the paper referral and had me call+fax every specialist. MGH, Lahey, etc. prefer primary care providers from their hospitals so it was painful getting an appointment. Most of them were like âwhat is One Medical?â and found the referral almost illegitimate. Not fun. To make matters worse, my PCP at One Medical did not reach out to them. I was faxing referrals myself. None of the doctors at One Medical took my hospitalization or referral for a hematologist serious. No one at One Medical bat an eye, they just thought âoddâ and moved on. It wasnât until I went to Boston IVF that they pushed me to get that checked. To make matters worse: my PCP told me they would not give me additional referrals after I told them the referrals they provided were at capacity due to cancer patients
Please do yourself a favor and just get a PCP with MGH, Lahey, etc. I did not know my experience was not the norm until my friend told me her PCP at Pilgrim Health Care takes all of her cancer or health related risks very seriously. As someone who had a first degree relative pass away from early onset cancer, it would be nice to have symptoms related to that cancer seriously. Moreover, her PCP actually helps facilitate her referrals.
One Medical doctors/nurses will claim âgood luck getting a primary care providerâ thankfully, I was able to get a new patient appointment quickly with Lahey
The app is nice, booking an appointment is seamless, but man, god forbid you have anything beyond a routine check up
One medical is not awful by any means, but man, my recent treatment makes me seriously reevaluate my membership. The convenience is nice, but I can get a same day appointment at urgent care too and this push back on referrals just doesnât...
Read moreMy PCP (Dr.D) recently moved over to One Medical, and since I've been with him for over a decade, I decided to follow (the Seaport parking situation was well worth it). I was skeptical at first with the modernness and Amazon affiliation, but the transition has been seamless. It's super convenient and helpful using the app, and responses come fast (all the medical staff at the office can reply) with virtual visit capabilities. They even helped import my medical records from my old practice. When I finally went to the office in person, it was a very clean, modern, and updated. It seems like a laid back environment where employees and patients go by their first names (no "Dr."). For the first time in years, my bp was not elevated due to 'white coat syndrome.' ...
Read moreWonderful office with great practitioners and staff. I feel very fortunate to have found One Medical, and through their network, find a great PCP after struggling for over 4 years to find a PCP in the city. Booking the appointments online or through the app is very convenient and communication has been stellar over the app. Having access to all the medical records online is also extremely convenient. Everyone from Kate at the front desk, to the phlebotomist and my PCP, Dr. Hastings, have been top notch. All of my concerns were addressed and at no point did I feel rushed. I also was able to get the labs done on site. I highly recommend One Medical and...
