Bass Pro Shops — Local services in Branson

Normally have a great experience at the Branson Bass Pro. Not this time! We are local (Lampe) and shop this Bass Pro quite a bit. Went in today to look at a side by side. The salesman did everything in his power to NOT have to talk to us…looked around, looked behind stand up banners, out the window and even left the sales floor! We went to customer service to see if there was someone we could talk to since we had some questions on one we wanted. Line at customer service but we saw him back in the side by side/boat area. I’m assuming he thought we had left. Same attitude…looking around trying not to talk to us. We finally got close enough to him and he HAD to acknowledge us. He looked me in the eye as a stared back. He said nothing for a few seconds then finally asked if we needed something after he realized he was going to have to talk first. We asked about a model not on floor. He said not made anymore. Funny, because it’s on Bass Pro and Tracker website. We asked about an 800 sx. He said 6 months. That’s it. That’s all he said. Since he obviously had no intention of selling us anything we thanked him for his time and gave Jeff Sale at the Springfield store our business for 18k. I don’t have the gentleman’s name from Branson store…50ish with longer grey hair. Badge said something about Sales Leader. If he’s the leader of anything other than how to run off customers I’d be amazed! 2 stars is strictly for the way we were treated by this gentleman. Normally we have fantastic service here. If he’s on sales floor when we go Pontoon shopping we won’t be giving him our business. We’ll talk to someone else or back to...

I don't really like airing my grievance publicly but after an hour on the phone being bounced from one person to another I guess I have no choice. This is a copy of the email I sent which was bounced back to me.

This morning I received an e-mail from Bass Pro honoring veterans. Thank you. I am humbled and honored when someone recognizes my service (and the service of countless others) to this great Country.

However, the e-mail was also off-putting and offensive. Specifically, that e-mail honored firefighters, law enforcement, EMS and hometown heroes. While I too am grateful for those people, those groups of people are not veterans. Undoubtedly there are veterans within those groups but the collective group is not a veteran. Furthermore,  a "hometown hero" could be a 15 year old that pulls a baby from a wrecked vehicle or an 8 year old that visits the local nursing home or any number of other scenarios. The term "hometown hero" can be very encompassing and potentially has absolutely nothing to do with military service.

My point is this, by including those groups the point of Veteran's Day is lost and all veterans are 'slapped in the face'.  Furthermore, think of the families of the lost Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines.

Seeing the e-mail does not convince me that Bass Pro wants to honor veterans but rather include as many groups as possible and therefore make more sales. Sorry to sound hateful but that is my legitimate feeling.

2 1/2 weeks ago I went in- waited for 25 minutes to get someone to help me with shoes- no one stopped... I found someone, asked for help- he said he would find someone for me. No one showed up. I bought the boots in a size I guessed. Guess what, wrong size. No problem though, right, just go swap them out.... Went to swap them out.... Waited 20 minutes for NO ONE to help in tge shoe area. My husband asked, can I get store credit and just order them online with the gift card... Response "I don't know". He asked- "Can I exchange them in Springfield, can you find out if they have them?" The response "I don't know you'll have to ask" we then asked if they could be ordered and we could come back to exchange when they came in.... The response "We can sell what we get sent, they choose what we get" (3 days before Christmas I had gone back to bass pro.... These boots were still marked at 59.99) So we went to the counter said we will just do the in store credit and keep an eye out for if they come in to which the lasy says there's a 30 day on it.... They went down to 29.99 so we'll give you 29.99 .... I just called to talk to someone about tbis 30 day amd now I'm told it's 90 days. Maybe someone should let Johnny know about his ever so 'efficient' employees. I get it, no receipt but the WHOLE experience has been hell. One employee after another that can't help, can't give an answer amd sure can't help out in any...
