I never post a complaint but holy moly… the rudest “manager” aka Cindy and then even worse, some other “acting whatever he does” aka Mike! Sooo we arrived at the WRFH after a 1.5 hour drive and were sat at the farthest window from the water with plenty of other tables available near the water. This all seemed a bit complicated for the hostess team but then “manager” Cindy stepped in and eventually re-sat us at a table outside on the water. This was great except for the fact that we had ordered drinks before we were moved. We eventually got to the new table, same sweet waitress was still our server. She took our appetizer order and said drinks will be right out. The appetizer came but still no drinks. About halfway through the appetizer, “manager” Cindy happens to walk by our table. I took advantage of the moment and said “excuse me, could you please check on our drinks?” Well her response was so rude that even the busser looked ashamed. She marched her unhappy self back inside as the door slammed behind her. My bf who NEVER complains asked our sweet waitress if there was anyone working that was “above” her? (Still no drinks lol). That’s when things got even better… this guy Mike shows up acting like the Sheriff. Immediately he starts off by saying something like “so you guys have a problem?” My bf starts to explain the situation and this guy Mike seriously starts putting us down. He says “yes, the bartender was tied up with ME!!” (As if that should be satisfactory??) The drinks taking sooooo long wasn’t even the real issue. We were annoyed by that but more upset by how RUDE the “manager” Cindy was to us when we asked if she could simply check on them. So now my bf addresses that subject. Well this idiot Mike asks me in a very condescending tone, “but did you interrupt her?” 😳 He then goes on to say that he “witnessed me get up and interrupt her while she was talking to another guest!!!” 😳😳 The only person Cindy was talking to was the busser. I did not get up. We were on the corner of the outside porch and Cindy was at the door right behind my chair. 🤯 Then he asks us, but even more condescending, “what do you want”? At that point I thought my bf was going to lose his cool. We weren’t asking for ANYTHING but maybe an apology for the staff being so rude or for him to just make sure that everything was finally ok… Instead this guy Mike made stupid excuse after stupid excuse and when my bf said that we didn’t want anything, this guy Mike storms off with a “have a nice day!!” The drinks finally arrived. We finished them and the mediocre calamari, paid the bill, generously tipped the sweet waitress and went a few miles down the road to the Pour House. We highly recommend the Pour House. If you still decide to give WRFH a shot then please be sure to ask for Mike and Cindy. They make a fantastic team of some kind. Well done Bass Pro Shops!! Who hired these 🤡🤡 ??? Oh and “have a...
Read moreFirst and foremost, DO NOT come here if you have any kind of schedule to keep. My family and I, 3 people, came here for Mother's Day. Thought it would be packed, but it was somewhere between 25-35% full.
So, far seemed so good. However, one of us rode separately and was about 5-10 minutes later. The hostess informed us that they would be unable to seat us as not all our party was in yet. If it were wall to wall packed, I'd understand, but again barely anyone in there.
We finally get seated and order only a single entrée each and had to wait around 45 minutes to get our food. What's more is that my dad's catfish smelled a little off and said it looked "mealy".
The cornbread is a jalapeño pepper cornbread. While that is always hit and miss, it tasted a day old and zero flavor of note.
I felt the bacon cheeseburger I ordered was well overpriced for a single patty burger. Also, the bacon it had that butane taste to it that that Chick-fil-a bacon has, which is totally not my thing. Honestly, you'd be better off just going a little ways up the road to Hamburger Hill, as the locals call it, and going to Wendy's, Steak N' Shake, even McDonald's. Baconator is far superior, far cheaper, and you get more bang for your buck and generally not a mediocre tasting patty like you do here.
My mom had some shrimp pasta, which she said it was good, as were my dad's and my fries, but that's about all the praise I can give them. Not being facetious when I say this, but I wish we had patio seats so I could toss it to the fish and birds.
One last complaint is that the A/C blasts to an uncomfortable level. I wore jeans, Converse, and a t-shirt and I was freezing the entire time. So, bring a jacket if you decide to not heed any of my other warnings regarding how poor of an...
Read moreWe didn't get off to a great start when the hostesses were rude when we entered and asked for a table. Not just stern but flat out rude and unapologetically so, to multiple members of our party, separately. On the plus side, the food was mostly good. Smoked wahoo dip had good flavor. Alligator tails are sweet, succulent and tender - loved them! Spinach dip was unimpressive, watery and bland. Cheese curds tasted like cheese curds, nothing exciting. Cornbread was very nice. The jalapeños give it just enough spice to amplify the sweetness. The fish and chips was HORRIBLE. Basically sticks of cod that had been frozen, thawed, frozen again and then refried. When I broke open a piece, I could see immediately that the color and texture was off but I hoped I was mistaken so I took a bite. Bad idea. It tasted and felt like rubber. I wanted to spit it out but I simply couldn't do that in public. Fortunately, the waitress was incredibly understanding and brought me a plate of catfish instead. That was delightful. Others in our party had the shrimp and scallop pasta, which they raved about, the flank steak, which was also very good, the maple-glazed salmon, ditto, and a cobb salad, again very good. Maybe mine was a fluke but it was definitely a disappointing one. Coupled with the unfriendly and unwelcoming hostesses, White River Fish House failed to live up to...
