How does one capture or illustrate the true meaning and beauty of the word Elegance? The fluid movement in form without fault, without hesitation or care. Just a pure moment of excellence. A mountain waterfall, flowing gracefully from upon high, cascading beauty down the picturesque mountainside. When I look to capture this emotion in current life I come amazingly close with King’s Castle Theatre’s production of Dublin’s Irish Tenors & The Celtic Ladies, with The Spirit of The Dance. Truly illustrating the true meaning of elegance in every way. Sarah Joy, April Ebersol and Sarah Marie form the Celtic Ladies and if you missed the S.A.S. (Initials) You will experience it with every note and emotion. Jay, Rowan, Brian and Kelvin are amazing. I have to be honest, coming from Irish heritage, this show hit my heart and I loved every moment from the heart felt memories, to the energetic drinking songs to the operatic anthems my heart was filled. Saving the grace filled dance of the Spirit of the Dance; Amy, Courtnay, and Jacqui, but truly the entire cast again captures in every essence of what Elegance was ethereally meant to embrace. True form of beauty, heart and soul in every moment. As an Irishman, Thank You for The SAS, The Spirit and The Eternal memory...
Read moreWhere to start? This was meh at best. I went to hear Irish and celtic music not Lee Greenwood, Queen, Beetles, Ella Fitzgerald and Opera. The tempo of some of the songs was so fast as to be almost unrecognizable. Tura lura lura is not a fast paced song to be done as part of a marching band montage. Seriously, it's a lullaby. If they had cut out some of the non-celtic/Irish songs maybe they would have had time to slow down the tempo of favorites like Whiskey In the Jar. The soprano is a classically trained opera singer and does well enough at that but she uses SO much vibrato in all the songs it takes away from the other amazing singers. There were times she sounded like a car alarm going off and she kept trying to eat her microphone even though she's got the power to not really need one at all. Thr other ladies were magnificent and the gentlemen were good too. The dancing was wonderful.
TL;DR poor song selections, one voice way overcooked, overall okay but slightly disappointing...
Read moreSaw the Winter Wonderland show this past Saturday night. 2 hours of the best entertainment anywhere! Best Show in Branson - do not miss! As good as anything in New York or Las Vegas. Excellent choreography, great singers and wonderful dancers! No idea who wrote the choreography but the flow of the entire show was perfect. Dancers were amazing. Perfectly in sync throughout the performance, tap was rousing, and ballet was fluid and phenomenal. Singers were in perfect harmony with clear voices and perfect harmony. Singer who performed Faith Hills “Why Can’t I find Christmas” sounded just like her. Also, actress who “led” audience in “Nutcracker” skit was hilarious/ especially her responses when audience was not following along correctly! Costumes were perfect and not sure how they managed so many changes. The salute to the veterans was especially nice. If you are going to see any show while in...
