I honestly really loved the store itself. I have to give a low star rating though because I don’t think a book that has lost its integrity should be sold as “used- acceptable”. This book has text completely covered by photos stuck/glued to the text. Pages are halved. The book cannot be read. Partly my responsibility because I didn’t ask that this collectors book be taken out of the plastic to look at before buying. But typically a book with that description should still be able to be read. Maybe it has highlighting or writing in the margins, a bad spine, etc.. This...

My 20 year old son has really started seeing the value of reading. He finished his really heavy book Norwegian Wood at the beginning of our vacation and asked me to take him to a book store to find something else which brought us to 417 Books. It was close to closing and wasn't long before Steve (a history professor at a local college) engaged us in great conversation about the classics and sources of stories and history.
