GET AN ACTUAL BENCH PRESS.
The equipment is a grab bag of random brands.
The plates are so clunky and wide it's no wonder you can't fit more than four on the pegs and why 35 lb plates don't exist -_- The safety bars on the squat rack come apart and I'm pretty sure they are not supposed to. I'm no scientist but the missing screws tell me this.
I can pick up some pretty heavy weights but when I'm struggling to move a nautilus brand bench across the room there's something wrong. (They are heavvvy)
Rant over. I like atmosphere there. I've been to all the gyms in town and didn't have as good a time lifting then here. I would really like to stay but a missing bench press and falling apart equipment keeps telling me no. You guys have real potential to leave the other gyms in the dust.
EDIT*Replying to //business comments. Dear Kind Sir, I will keep this as unbiased and non-personal as I can.
I am sorry you feel this way and I don't agree with some of your comments as some are incorrect.
I was in fact not given a FULL walk through or even a walkthrough AT ALL. i was shown how to use the finger print reader. That was all.
You have benches not actual bench press stations. In order to create a bench press I would have to move said nautilus brand bench to the closest squat rack. I asked your patrons and that is what they do to create a bench press set up. So the issue isn't so much the brand as it is more the entire process of creating ones own bench press station.
The squat rack bars are missing screws. If the squat bars are meant to come apart I don't think one should be required to bring their own screw driver. The leg Press is missing the handles while I am on the subject. I hope that the 30$ yearly fee in March to bring in new equipment does in fact bring in new equiptment rather than opening a new facility in Springfield and neglecting the current one. I asked a regular patron where he got the squat bar he was using from so I know where to find it next time and turns out he brings his own squat bar as there are none. There is a deadlift bar though.
Finally, I enjoyed the atmosphere and meeting nice kind folks that go to TR which is why I had a change of heart and decided to rescind my cancelation as no other gym in town had this kind of atmosphere. Unfortunately when I showed up I did not have access and spoke to the long haired fella to learn i was not charged. I will get in touch with the owner and actually speak to him in hopes i can at least write him a check. I don't do free rides.
I am simply using google reviews as it is meant to be used. If I offended you then my apologies but there is no need to get personal based on my reviews. They have helped many people and I will continue to do so. In this day and age like many that don't own a business I am too busy going to school and working a full time job to sit down and chat face to face but if that actually helps bring better, much needed equiptment to your current patrons even though I will see none of it. Then let me know and I will be there ASAP.
Thank you, and p.s I am voting you up because I still believe you can be the best...
Read moreGreat equipment, everything is maintained very well, but hands down the worst aspect is the fingerprint scanner to enter in. I don't know if having small hands is a detriment to it not working over half the time but they do have it to where you can have your own code to get in as well so there is a way to work around it.
Staff is fine but I know I wished I was given at least a bit more of a rundown on more things when I first joined. They did a general tour on what equipment they had, classes, and just a basic walk around the place but I had no clue where the sanitation places were, the protocol for it and gym etiquette. And being a newbie to gyms made that a bit nerve wracking.
And then the weirdest thing is ALL of their paper towel dispensers for sanitizing the equipment is upside down? And high up. So if your short it's a bit annoying to try and reach and also because of this, the paper towels sometimes will fall into it and you can't pull any out. Therefore you can't sanitize anything. Not bad if staff are around but if you're there late at...
Read moreI felt discriminated in this place. I’m not sure if he is the owner or just an employee. The first time that I talked with him he was in a hurry with vague responses to my questions about the membership and the classes. I thought give a second chance. I appeared for the complementary class (1 st class). I noticed he was giving a tour showing the gym to some people. He never showed me the first time and after finished the class I said to him if I can pay for the membership for me to use the gym and for my son be enrolled for the classes and he had the same attitude, not worried or really interested of the possibility we can become new member. He gave again a vague response of doing it the NEXT WEEK. By omission he left us out. The other people working (instructor, helper, other parents and the children was very respectful with us). After the disrespectful treatment of this “person” we will not come back. Good luck with “future members”.
