Everything was mediocre to terrible. We had to request water which was brought in small plastic cups. They also rarely refilled the cups and did not leave the carafe of water at the table. There's no offering by the glass for their wine listed and were being upselled to buy a bottle. The menu is just a small listing of pizza with nothing else. Pizza was burnt on the bottom and one even had a staple in it that the employee chalked up to coming from the mushroom bag. They didn't even comp the entire pizza for the staple being in it.
Editing as the owner has responded:
You mention that they comped the pizza. It was half comped as mentioned in my review. I believe a staple would warrant writing off the item entirely.
I also believe it would be best to the people working to check in and ask about the food as we would have mentioned more issues. I understand it was difficult as only two staff were working but it may be worthwhile to have more for better customer service.

Read moreThis my second time going to Kindred and both times I have been impressed first, and foremost, with the kindest staff around. They are wonderful. I haven’t had the pizza yet, but last night we got the mandarine orange and fennel salad, a cheese plate, and the chocolates for dessert. All were excellent. The salad was fun and delicious and the chocolates were amazing. I am not a chocolate person, but wow! I think this business has the best location on Indian Creek and both indoors and outdoors patio are close to luxurious because the overall feel and views are so nice. The wine is also very good . I favor red wines, in general, but I like to do the tastings here to see what they offer. What a fun way to spend a summer evening...

The creekside is cooler and offers occasional glimpses of water birds as well as soothing water sounds. The pizza is outstanding--complex combinations of slightly sweet fruits and veggies paired with savory meats or herbs and cheeses. The wine tasting included a white (viognier) and three reds. They are all distinctive from one another, so my palette was pleased with the exercise. I'm always amazed there aren't more people here along the creek when I visit. I'm from out of town, but make a point of going...
