Wednesday November 20, 2019 I was at the location at 113 E Chicago Ave & the customer service was terrible! I went into the location to exchange a jacket that my wife had purchased for me as a gift. I wasn’t greeted when I walked into the store because the employee Harry was on his personal cell phone. He then greeted me after he got off his cellphone but it still wasn’t a welcoming greeting that the DXL staff usually provide. I explained to the employee that I was needing to do an exchange as the jacket didn’t fit. He asked me for the receipt after I had already explained to him that it was a gift & that I didn’t have the receipt. He then stated that he couldn’t return nor exchange the jacket without a receipt. He then removed the Columbia jacket out of the clear plastic “garment” bag that was provided at the time of purchase, he started checking the tags, & then had the audacity to tell me that this jacket wasn’t purchased at a DXL store. I’ve been a loyal customer & platinum member for over 15 years & this is the absolute worse service I’ve ever received in retail. I shop at DXL all over Chicago, Houston, & via the web & I’ve never been so baffled in my life. I provided the employee with my wife phone number (nothing found) I then provided him with my phone number although I knew he wouldn’t find the receipt as this was a gift. After he successful retrieve my profile he then attempted to change the atmosphere in the store (seeing my history) but then stated that this was last year jacket & that the tags on the jacket isn’t DXL tags! I’m extremely upset that this guy could be so rude & would lack customer service in such a big corporate store. Needless to say he was able to find the receipt & see that it was just recently purchased from another location in Illinois. As a manger myself I requested the contact information for the DM. He then questioned me as to why I wanted that information. Sadly I had a similar incident at this location about 4 years ago but after today I will NEVER return to this location. This was completely unacceptable & embarrassing. I spend to much money with DXL to ever receive this kind of behavior. If I could give a negative star I would! Please please please give this guy some one on one coaching on customer service & company...
Read moreGoing anywhere during a pandemic is concerning and even more so when you just despise shopping due to your size. I've been a Nordstrom and Macy's shopper but it seems that over time even their larger sizes are "slim" fit or "athletic" fit... Leaving me to buy what fit not necessarily what I liked. A friend mentioned DXL to me and I was hesitant due to it being a "big and tall" store... I guess I just had a distaste in my mouth for that description, a misconception of sorts. I assumed it was a store where I'd have to sacrifice quality for fit. I'm a borderline 3x in "normal" stores. Their sizing never really felt right. Going to DXL was kind of a game changer for me really. I'm not a 2x or even a 3x at DXL, I'm a 1x. I left feeling better and more comfortable in my skin. Rammy, the assistant store manager, was super friendly and accommodating but not at all pushy. I kind of gave him and idea of what I was looking for and he was able to find exactly what I had in mind. New summer styled sports coats that are not only super trendy but so comfortable! I wasn't shy of throwing down on a few sports coats. They have all the name brands that the big boxes have. They have a great casual selection as well as a pretty awesome selection of short sleeve button down shirts that I typically struggle with sizing on but they all fit like a glove. I found myself throwing more and more into my pile. I have an entirely new, fashion-forward wardrobe for work and play. I felt so comfortable during the entire experience. I was hesitant when I walked in to see Rammy... A slim and trim handsome guy selling clothes for bigger guys like myself but it felt right. Thanks for the experience, will definitely be back to freshen up my fall and...

Both employees just stared at us like we were some aliens out of space. The feeling was uncomfortable. My daughter and I were Never asked if we needed some help. However I asked the man, that it was my first time being in the store and I was looking for a gift for my son Birthday. A Jacket. This man seem bothered by me asking him if he can help & show me where the jackets are. After. i walked to the counter and asked for a coat that I saw online. The women response with a facial attitude and sarcastic talk, said to me that coat was last year's and they don't carry it in the store. Both the woman and the man seemed bothered when I had a question. They were fooling around with each other, running around in the store like little kids. Here I'm thinking I'm going to get some good customer service and quality professional help. I felt discouraged disappointed, and most of all discriminated. I will not be recommending this store. BEWARE of HOLON & the Women wth Colored Hair. Very...
