It was a pleasant winter day when I happened to step into this rather mysterious complex built on the outskirts of a decaying mall. My cousin entered first and engaged with the guard at the door. After speaking the secret password, we waited a moment before a second guard arrived and took us to our table. I thought we were going to play a round of blackjack but instead a man asked me if I wanted something to drink. I was afraid I would be poisoned so I asked for water just to be safe. My cousin explained to my grandparents the intricate and dangerous art of communicating with the various individuals wearing name badges. My grandparents were worried to find out what happens to people who say the wrong code words, but everything worked out just fine. As far as I could tell, we used a secret language to order various objects of immeasurable value beyond any human capacity to grasp. As we waited for the man to return with our goods, we discussed how to commit arson in the most subtle of ways. Eventually the objects arrived and to my utter surprise, it was actually food! Food from a strange and distant land called Italy. As I began to eat the food, my mind exploded with amazement. Never before had I tasted such wonder delicacies. My mind took a journey of a hundred lifetimes as the food entered my mouth. I suddenly realized that I may not be where I thought I was. I may not be a gangster, and I may not be in a dangerous. The word Olive Garden rang through my head, chasing away the darkness that had long blinded my mind. I was free. My cousin enjoyed a chocolate lasagna, my grandma loved her four cheese manicotti, and grandpa pondered deeply the implications of freedom. We departed from that blessed restaurant as changed people. We had ascended from our darkness and found the light. As we exited, we profusely thanked our wonderful waiter. The cold outside no longer felt bitter. Rather, I could feel the newfound warmth in my heart healing my wounds and expanding my love for food. I had truly been blessed to pass through the most magnificent, most tantalizing, most astounding Olive Garden in the state of Idaho. Thank you...

Sorry OG, nothing against you all. I'm not trashing you as a competing restaurant or a plant. Rather, I've been a long time OG customer over 30+ years. I remember when they first came to Oregon. My family and I loved eating at Olive Garden. My wife and I even ate in December at OG in Idaho Falls. Things were almost always great. But not here in Pocatello. OMG! The lettuce was not quality checked and we had to pick out a lot of wilted lettuce... the good stuff was mixed with some pure rotten lettuce. I can provide photos of that. But I think a bigger problem was the Shrimp Scampi. Almost immediately I noticed a foul odor coming from the plate. I could tell right away the shrimp wasn't fresh or was improperly cared for. That was real issue #1. Real issue #2 is the sous chef doesn't know how to cook shrimp properly or the entire dish for that matter. The Shrimp were undercooked as was the asparagus that was still woody and stringy and crunchy. So there is a chef there in Pocatello OG that is lying about their culinary experience and doesn't actually know how to cook the seafood safely or tell what should be discarded and never served to the public. There is more, much more. But I will save that for a 1 on 1 discussion with your Management teams. You owe me a change of clothing!! That's not an exaggeration or a joke. Talk with Brealin, she'll remember my wife and I, she brought us a side of cold scampi sauce straight from the fridge and they threw out our left overs when my wife walked to the car and forgot we left them on the table and immediately returned for them... in retrospect, who knows... maybe she was saving me from a trip to the ER. We were there just 2-3 days...
Read moreI had a close friends birthday that I had been planning for weeks. I called Olive Garden on Tuesday to ask if they do reservations, the way no to do it online. Then I called Wednesday and they gave me a different answer. They told me that I had to talk to a manger for a party bigger than 6 people. Our party was for 13 people. I called Olive Garden on Thursday and explained that I wanted a table for 13 people the following day at 5pm to their manager Hugo Vasquez. Hugo said they don’t do reservations, you can only be put on their waiting list AND they can’t put me on that list 24 hours ahead and to call back the next day about 30mins before we intended to eat. I thought this was odd as its grand opening was only a few days ago and it’s a weekend night. But I followed his instructions. I actually called at 4pm and asked to be put on the waiting list for 13 people at 5pm. They put us down only when my entire party arrives, they tell me that our party is at the bottom of the list!!! That we had to wait about and hour and a half!!!! What?!? I diligently attempted to reach out to them all week and to no avail! When I asked Hugo to explain, he said that by the time we called at 4pm, 17 other parties had called ahead. I reminded him that it was he who told me to call at 4pm that day!! And I had even talked to him YESTERDAY! His instructions were very deceitful and my party of 13 left and had a FABULOUS dinner with a great waitress at MacKenzie River! 🫶🏽 Olive Garden sent a text at 7:20pm that our “table was ready”. We had already eaten our entrees by then. Glad we could find a business that welcomed...
