Maritza is amazing. She is more than a seamstress or tailor. Maritza is a custom designer. My review is a long one. That’s because my high esteem, for her and her ability, developed from a long “journey” together. I first met Maritza when I brought a gown to her for hemming. It had taken me a few months to find this gown to wear for my daughter’s wedding. When I tried it on, Maritza immediately showed me why it was not fitting properly and would require more alteration than a hem. She also explained that it was a gown of excellent quality and therefore had sufficient seam width to let it out where required, however, because it was silk, the fabric would retain the holes from the original stitching. She then came up with a custom alteration idea to hide the holes by adding lace to the altered areas. Because I still had several months left to find a gown, I decided to keep looking for another one but if need be, go ahead with the extensive alterations for the first one. I came back to Maritza with something that didn’t require alteration but wanted her opinion of it. She said it was fine and even took a photo of me wearing it. I eventually decided against it and kept looking! A week before the wedding I found 2 dresses that were just right but both required hemming. Maritza made time for me immediately. She patiently waited to see both dresses on me. We chose one dress and Maritza hemmed it to the perfect length, intended for this “gala” ballroom type dress. She had it hemmed, steam pressed and ready 2 days later! That is not the end of this story. The dress had one off the shoulder strap. I wanted to be covered from my shoulders down to my elbows and could not find an appropriate wrap for this navy dress. Maritza said that if I found a yard and a half of fabric I liked, she could make it into a wrap. The fabric I brought to her 3 days before the wedding was an intricate lace which Maritza explained she would have to trim around every flower in it as well as stitching the ends into a finished look. She agreed to take it on and had it ready the next day. When I picked it up, she also surprised me with a bow made from the excess material from the dress’s hem with a pony tail elastic attached so that I could put it in my hair! I had tears of joy when I saw this wonderful gift from Maritza. This is still not the end of the story!!!! When I tried to see how the wrap would look, it kept slipping off my shoulders. Maritza knew this would not work so she offered to redo the shawl a different way which meant taking time on her day off. I wouldn’t hear of that. Maritza then found a way I could use the wrap with it pinned in a specific way. On the spot, she made a pin from more of the leftover hem fabric and glued embellishments onto it. Could anyone ask or dream of more than this at the very last moment!!!!!! I now consider Maritza “mi amigo”, my friend. I highly recommend her skill, talent and loving heart. I have a milestone birthday coming up in a week and was almost in tears because I could not find the right dress. I searched for a Designer and found Maritza😍. I never called or attempted to make an appointment, I just decided to walk in and I AM SO GLAD I DID.

Maritza is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! She greeted me with a warm and beautiful smile.

I showed her two dresses that I had and explained to her what I was thinking, instantly she knew exactly what I wanted before I can say the words “Couture”. She turned the two dresses into one magnificent master piece.

She has anointed hands. She said “I’m going to make this dress look beautiful”. I said “I trust you” and she blew my mind.

Words cannot express my gratitude. I am over the moon about my dress and cannot wait to wear it next week, I also forgot to mention, she made the dress versatile, so I can wear two ways, long or short. I LOVE IT!

THIS IS WHAT PROFESSIONAL LOOKS LIKE. Maritza Marengo I was in a dilemma on 9/26/19. I sent out for a dress I wanted to wear at my birthday party on 9/28/19.I had the dress for while, but because it was white I didn't want to try it on thinking I didn't want it to get dirty or spots on it. I tried it on 9/26/19 and the zipper was broken. I took it to a near by cleaners and I was told it was too late to get it altered by Saturday. Me in distress calling around trying to find someone to alter my dress. I was referred to Maritza.. I gave her a call and she ask that I come by her shop on Friday Morning 9/27/19. When I went to see her she said she was able to do it. Maritza also said she would need to get a new zipper. I left my dress with her and in amazement Maritza called me in a couple of hours to say the dress was all done.
