Frenchy's Off The Hook — Local services in Clearwater

I'm honestly extremely disappointed and disheartened by the utter ignorance of the Frenchy's "Off The Hook" Restaurant Staff and rhe utter ableist mentaliry of the establishment. I just left their restaurant with my service dog, Atlas. I will not be returning.. We had just left a two hour doctor'sappointment with my specialist in Clearwater and travel all rhe way from Tampa from the appointment, I was at the doctor all morning with my service dog and having tests run so when we finally finished we decided to grab lunch on the way home. What a mistake it was choosing Frenchy's. I'm astounded and appalled and disgusted by rhe ableist nature of their staff. They sat us down with menus OUTSIDE, I placed my service dog in a down out of the way where he was not causing any issues or being disruptive. The staff said nothing to me about my dog at this time. So I went ahead and ordered my food, and as my food was being DELIVERED the server asked us if he was a service dog. At this time, my dog was still in a down and not bekng disruptive in any way. Although legally, I know this question may be asked, the utter deliverance and turseness of the question as we were already seated and eating was where the fault lied Why seat us and serve us food only to question us as we were being served as if we were going to be kicked out, as my task-trained service dog remained by my side in a down. I'm honestly appalled, and management needs to do better about either asking this question upfront before we order and are served food OR educate staff how to properly identify service dogs based on how they are behaving. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this ableist and bigoted establishment ever again. And imagine all of this heartache, for mediocre food....

OF Course FRENCHYS HAS GREAT GROUPER ! But they also have a Great Gift Shop next door that is OFF THE HOOK ! That is the name of the shop and they have decorative items for your home or for a friends home ! T Shirts and nautical art . Eat your Grouper and stop next door ! As i was reminiscing with one of the employees about the Clearwater Beach OLD DAYS and what FUN our generation had there . Of course FRENCHYS was a part of our partying times there back then too . The younger employee was overheard saying this guy sounds like my father ! All i can say is ,having memories is great . I walked in and immediately saw someone without a mask so I walked in without a mask. I was immediately approached by 1lady to my left and 1 lady to my right asking me for a face covering. I then said, yes I have one but what about that guy without one? One lady said, well he’s deaf. So deaf people don’t have to wear one? Meanwhile my other 2 friends who are white were not approached about a mask. If you are going to require a mask from everyone, let it be everyone and stop discriminating.
