I’m super picky about French toast, and this location is the only place that makes it PERFECTLY. Their other foods are amazing, as well. We’ve made it a habit to come here for my birthday and our anniversary every year.
I would avoid going during holiday weekends, personally, though! lol.
The weekend before Mother’s Day, they took our name and number down to text us when a table became available due to a 30min est wait time. We walked around the vicinity for 25 minutes and came back to wait outside. Never got a text. We texted the number asking for an updated estimate with no response. Waited nearly 1.5 hours total before just going in and asking what was going on, only to realize that when a table was available, the host had just walked outside and asked for “Michael” instead of texting. Another party piped up and was seated, instead. My boyfriend saw his text to them on the iPad, as well, while the host searched for his name, so they did get it. Was a bit frustrating.
I get the chaos of a holiday weekend, but why take down a number to text if you’re just going to go outside and call out a (super common)name?
Food-wise, however, everything is fantastic. The servers are always EXTREMELY friendly. The cook/(owner?) will come out and take orders/serve himself, super swell guy. Portion sizes are usually hefty. We always leave a good tip because the food and service is just always fantastic.
I’m hoping they bring back the croissant French toast with spicy chocolate ganache. That...
Read moreFood - Ordered a 1/2 Order of Biscuit Beignets, Sunrise Spinach Scrambler, and the Lemon Poundcake French Toast. Also, started with a good cup of coffee. Beignets were very good and didn't even get to finish them before our main course was ready. The scrambler was very good. Good combination of fresh spinach with earthy mushrooms and a creamy goat cheese to balance it out. The French Toast was excellent! Highly recommend! Waiter suggested to try it first before adding syrup and I am glad he did. A bite with the dense lemon pound cake, fresh fruit and creamy whipped cream was a perfectly balanced bite. When eaten with the syrup, the great flavor of the lemon pound cake French Toast was drowned out with the sweet syrup. The scrambled eggs were ok. The House-Made Sweet & Savory Sausage was possibly the best breakfast sausage I have ever had (coming from an Iowa farm boy that has eaten his share of breakfast sausage)! I can tell that it was made in house with a great balance of sage and seasoning and a little sweetness.
Service - Our waiter was very helpful and top notch. Kept our coffee and water full and was regularly checking in to make sure everything was good.
Ambiance - Very clean and bright! Great place to enjoy breakfast or lunch.
There were many excellent entrées on the menu that looked amazing so we may be back if our appetite can handle it!?!? It may take a couple days to recover...
Read moreCathy our waitress looked after us as well as expected, it was my birthday so she nicely brought me sweet balls with jam as a token. We were very please with her actions..until, my husband ask nicely for Colombian coffee once he realized was available, extra toast for his eggs Benedict, and last he asked for honey, instead of sugar for his coffee. I notice the unpleasant look and expression on her face each time he asked for these three things. She looked annoyed, like if it was a bother to her. He is in a restaurant ordering what he likes to drink and it, if it wasn't available then so it is. At the end of the meal once she had brought out the bill, she commented to my husband in frontt of our family. ' I'm sure you are a nice man, but serving you was a nightmare Sir' He was shock to hear this and I was upset to hear this as my husband was always polite. She was the waitress, her job is attend the customer, by providing if available what the customer ask for. What was a nice experience turned into a bad one. Everything nice she did for us went out the window, and just showed how unprofessional, unhappy and bitter she is in her job. I guess Cathy only wants those customers that order nothing more then what's in the menu. Sad! This is exactly the reason why I would never go back to this restaurant and would never...
