Went into Bassett looking at a couch I had been eyeing online for a week. As soon as my husband and I walked in we were greeted by a sales associate who asked if we needed help. I asked her where the couch is located in the store and she took me over to it. Great first impression!
However, she never left. We couldn't get a moment to ourselves to discuss the couch or truly get a feel for it. She asked us question after question even when we tried to talk amongst ourselves. We got up to look at other couches thinking maybe she would back off but she followed us over there too. We tried discussing if we wanted another sectional, what color we wanted this time around, etc and she would put herself into our conversation to no end!
I'm not sure if they work on commission or if this is their sales tactic but it was way too much. My husband got so frustrated he faked a call and left. I finally told her my husband had a emergency and left as well. We went over to another store to look but they didn't have what I wanted like Bassett. However, they actually let us look and didn't pester us. There has to be a better balance at Bassett.
I left feeling so disappointed because I really wanted to see this couch but I couldn't get a feel for it and couldn't talk things over with my husband about it without constant pressure. Sadly, it was not a...
Read moreI recently had an exceptional experience at Bassett Furniture, largely thanks to Sreedevi Ravindranathan. From the moment we walked in, Sreedevi greeted us with warmth and genuine enthusiasm, making us feel right at home. Her knowledge of the store’s inventory was impressive, and she took the time to understand our needs, style preferences, and budget. We were looking for a sofa and chairs to complete our living room, and Sreedevi guided us through the process with patience and expertise. She asked thoughtful questions to narrow down our options and showed us pieces that perfectly matched our vision. Her suggestions were spot-on, balancing aesthetics with practicality, and she explained the customization options in a way that made the decision-making process seamless. Thanks to her, we found a stunning sofa and a pair of chairs that not only fit our space but also elevated the entire room. Sreedevi’s professionalism, paired with her friendly and approachable demeanor, made the experience truly enjoyable. She went above and beyond, ensuring we felt confident in our choices without ever being pushy. The quality of Bassett’s furniture is outstanding, and the service we received from Sreedevi made this purchase unforgettable. I’d highly recommend Bassett Furniture—and ask for Sreedevi if you want a stress-free, personalized...
Read moreWorst experience Ive had furnishing my new house! I bought a $3,000 owens maple oval dining table from Bassett Furniture and it came with 50+ little holes in it! Apparently these are known as "worm holes" or "beetle holes". Look at the photo- it looks terrible!! I called the store and the customer care line to ask about what I assumed was a defect and how to get this fixed - they said this is part of the beauty of the wood and refused to fix the holes or exchange/refund my table!!
Who would find this beautiful!? Its holes in a high end table where dirt and crumbs can collect. Apparently its common in the maple used at Bassett.
The employee at the store was extremely defensive about the holes when I reached out to her. I felt like i was fed a bunch of marketing nonsense! She could show some empathy for me. But I dont fault her - Bassett needs to provide a higher quality product. Plain and simple- they should not be using this wood in these tables.
Apparently the sample at the store had 60+ holes in it- but I didnt realize I needed to inspect for “beetle holes” in a high end product at Bassett Furniture. Holes in wood = cost cutting measure by Bassett.
Id highly encourage you to take your money elsewhere. I have friends who bought high end dining tables from Crate & Barrel and Restoration Hardware - no holes in...
