Edit: I see the issue is with the same woman across multiple reviews, who also appears to be the owner. Awesome!
I would like to suggest a thought exercise to the woman with the grey bob and black glasses who followed me out of the store, after I paid, for the purpose of coming after me to inquire as to the 50% off sticker on a package of dented portobello mushrooms. "Those mushrooms are not 50% off" (they were). Said employee also did not apologize when she saw multiple other 50% off produce items.
Let's go over this one together. Look, I get it. I also work a customer service job and deal with less than honest people sometimes. I'm not one of them. In fact, I have a notary public commission that can be revoked for simple petty theft!
I know critical thinking is hard in this day and age, so I'll walk you through this one with me! :)
Our question is as follows:
Is it a good use of your time to suspect me of trying to pull a fast one on you for 3 (three) discounted items (dented portobello caps, a small container of spreadable gouda, and a day-old, sort of rock hard bagel), totaling less than $5, on a transaction where I also purchased full-price heirloom tomatoes?
Here's our points to consider:
(1) I paid for my order, in front of you! (2) Not only did I pay for my order in front of you, but I ALSO gave you my loyalty phone number! (3) At the end of the transaction, I showed you my full legal name and where I go to graduate school on my student ID for the student discount! You now have all of my contact information, as well as security camera footage of me in your store. (4) If I were to have the exact 50% off stickers you had, wouldn't I put them on more valuable items to maximize the con? As it stands, the implicit accusation of fraudulent conduct was over about a grand sum of $4.50 total between 3 items. In my experience working retail, typically scammers go big. I would have brought you some rib eye steaks or something of more value than a old, hard bagel. (5) By leaving your cashiering station and the store, aren't you then giving leeway to the people who are there to actually steal things they are not paying for? Nobody is watching them near the produce. They could have all the heirloom tomatoes they want, for free, instead of being a sucker like me and paying $4.99 for a pint. Real amateur hour over here on my part!
Perhaps leave the customer policing to the LEOs I see in the store. I deeply apologize for legally buying your 50% off products as a grad student who watches their budget and enjoys seeing if they can find a good deal on their walk home from work. Thanks for everything! I will not be returning, although considering how little I spent I'm sure it's not of great...

Read moreI have never written a review in my life, but the cop's behavior here is crazy and made me so anxious that I wanted to leave. I was followed the entire time. I was really looking forward to coming since I have not been in since the new management came in.
I had a bookbag, so maybe that is why, but why not make a policy that we keep them up front or something? Or communicate? He kinda just freaked me out. I am a student and get a discount here with my ID, so of course I am going to have a bag of some sort since I go to school literally down the street and walked here. Regardless of that, there is barely any parking, so most customers are going to walk here and need a bag to carry things.
Also, there are not as many vegan items as there were before (I did not see any in the bakery besides a loaf of bread, but I was being tracked by the cop the entire time and did not feel comfortable enough to really look, so who knows). He really killed any joy I had of getting my fun vegan snacks.
It made me sad because I have memories of coming down here with my classmates in the past and now I'm like being profiled or something. Not sure if the cop is being directed by the owners or not, but maybe tell him to act like a normal person instead of creating a weird environment. Or like, just accuse me to my face instead of stalking me around really obviously.
I would like to come back, but that cop has to change because it was...
