I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the customer service I experienced.
Typically, I do not order my business cards from Staples, but due to an important event scheduled for tomorrow, I decided to place a rush order for same-day pickup. After completing my online order, I was informed that the cards would be ready by 5:30 PM. Additionally, I ordered flyers for the event under the same rush service, which also indicated a 5:30 PM readiness.
Upon arriving at Staples at 5:45 PM, I had a flyer saved on a flash drive that I needed to print. Unfortunately, when I attempted to use the self-service machine, it authorized my card for a $5 fee but failed to recognize my USB drive. Instead of troubleshooting the issue, I sought assistance from a staff member in the print shop, who informed me that he was unable to help. Consequently, I had to approach the front of the store for further assistance.
The individual who assisted me was a manager named Mike. His response was quite unhelpful, as he simply stated, "I don’t know what to tell you." This left me feeling frustrated, especially since I couldn't print my flyer for the event the following day. I then moved to the print area to collect my two orders, which were supposed to be ready by 5:30 PM. While Mike retrieved my flyers, he then checked on my business cards and casually informed me that they hadn’t been printed. When I inquired why, he responded with indifference, saying he didn’t know.
I reminded him that I had placed the order earlier in the day for 5:30 PM pickup and emphasized that I needed the cards by 9 AM for my event. His lack of concern was palpable as he suggested I return the next day to pick them up, this after I just mentioned to him that I needed them for my event the next day. Obviously, he didn’t care! Meanwhile, another couple was counting their business cards, expressing concern that they were short of the promised 1,000. Mike interrupted them, insisting they couldn’t count their cards in the store because it was closing and they needed to leave. I was absolutely shocked that he said that to them! Clearly, they couldn’t care less about helping the customers because they were anxious to close and were actually waiting at the door for us to leave!
This experience exemplified the poorest customer service I have ever encountered. I strongly advise against using this location for any printing needs, as the staff clearly lacks commitment to customer satisfaction. I’ll never trust Staples with my printing ever again as this was a very important event for me and I now don’t have the documents...
Read moreI've never felt the need to leave a negative review for a business before today. My partner is agoraphobic, but she has to go to this Staples for work supplies. So it's already hard for her to leave the house, period. I went with her to pick up some photo paper yesterday. December 19, 2022. It was 10 minutes before closing, but we knew exactly what we were grabbing and where it was located. We walked in and immediately started receiving dirty looks from an employee (6 ft + tall, heavy set, middle aged balding guy with glasses; we didn't catch his name). He walked up quickly and asked if we needed help. My partner and I said no, thank you. We were upbeat and friendly about it. The employee immediately looked angrier, raised his voice, and said, "Yeah, well, the store closes in 5 minutes (not true), I'm TRYING to help you so we can get you out of here." He had a snippy, condescending tone. My partner immediately was wildly uncomfortable and I had to explain to him that we already knew where we were going and this conversation was wasting even more time in order to get him to leave us alone, because he refused to back off. By the time we got back to our car after paying, the store STILL hadn't closed. We had parked on the other side of the parking lot and we STILL made it there in time. Again, my partner HAS to use this location for work. I will be coming with her from now on so that she can't be harassed by this bitter piece of s. I've spent years in customer service, and I've never once treated anyone like this. I get being miserable. Don't make it our problem. I'm leaving this review, but I will be back to talk to him later today. There was absolutely no reason to harass my partner because he wanted to close early. He scurried off embarrassed like a little ** when I more forcefully told him to leave us alone, but didn't apologize. This man really shouldn't be working...
Read moreDo yourself a favor, and go somewhere else!!! Needed to make some copies. Looked on Google where to go. I saw the mostly bad reviews for this place, but figured for making copies, how bad can it be? Well, the answer is pretty bad, and the negative reviews are justified. There were 3 workers at the copy desk. TWO of them helping a single customer, and what looked like a manager doing "something" on the computer/register that was apparently more important than customers. I stood there for several minutes, before anyone even asked if I needed help. When I said I needed copies, I was told "Its going to be a while, you can do it yourself" which is the opposite of helpful, its obvious I could do it myself. I had to print a large number (over 100) of 11x17 sheets and hole punch them, and didn't want to do it myself. They told me there was a hole punch, which was a small, cheap one that would take maybe 5 sheets at a time. Would have been more efficient if they did it (as they likely have a better punch behind the counter). Waited and waited for 10 min or so, but it was very obvious the workers would not be helping me anytime soon. Again, 3 employees, one customer besides me. So I gave up, and did the job myself. I guess their idea of "customer service" is that the customer does all the work, while they stand around, doing nothing.
Also had to buy some binders from the office supply area of the shop. The retail cashier was the only "bright" spot. Not because she was in any way spectacular. But at least she was doing her job. The manager made his appearance again. Again, he showed up, started doing something on a register, which had nothing to do with helping actual customers.
The "customer service" here is just miserable. I don't recommend this...
