Macy's — Local services in Concord

yesterday my friend and i (we are black by the way and I promise it matters) went to the mall to look for some men’s black shorts for him. we went through macys and then walked all over the mall to look for them. we came back to macys and kept looking for the shorts. we ended up circling the store a few times because the departments are so big and somewhat disorganized. i noticed one of the perfume ladies[(Asian/ Filipino descent maybe(?)] pointing at us but didn’t think too much of it because no one approached us. shortly after we both noticed one of their black male employees who wore an all blue suit following us around the store, and a latina woman who had a red shirt on watching us, both doing these things even up until we got to the fitting rooms. I believe we made it quite obvious that we knew we were being followed because they continued to stand nearby without every greeting us or directly acknowledging our presence, and acting as if they were having a genuine conversation about some nike shorts on the go back rack outside the fitting room. What’s crazy is I told my friend that we need to hurry up before they think we are stealing just a few minutes before we noticed the two employees that followed us/watched us. this male employee followed us to every corner of the store we walked to. my friend got the shorts and made sure to get his receipt, then we went back to the fitting rooms to put his shorts on and now all of a sudden we are no longer being followed. The racial profiling in itself is already disgusting, but from MINORITY employees is absolutely repulsive, unexpected, and disappointing. I don’t shop in Macys at all, and I will NEVER consider stepping my foot in their stores again due to the employees of the Sun Valley Mall location giving a discriminatory impression of what shopping there on a day to day basis is like as a...

My visit to the SUNVALLEY MALL men's Macy's was...initially...to just browse around...like I frequently do when during my many visits to the mall. A friend of mine was in need of a grooming kit....not just a shaver....but the whole facial hair....and if he wanted to....his head of hair too. His old one had finally quit on him....you know how that works....when he really needed it too. Anyway....that was in the back of my mind. Well.....I'm like wondering around....you know....just checking the discounts....nothing in particular. When....wow....I turn a corner in my powerchair....BAM! THERE IT IS! WOW! A whole rack of razor kits....of ALL KINDS! Man...totally caught me off guard! And....YES....discounts galore! So....there's this Wahl Grooming Kit...with a whole bunch of attachments....and those USA made steel razor sharp blades that will cut right through my friend's tough beard....&/or.....his hair too! I told the very friendly lady at the nearby counter...."This is just what I was looking for!"....and....the register rang up the same discount price on the package....just 19.95! Heavily MARKED DOWN!!! When I'd said thank you....and she told me...."Have a great day sir!"....it was like I was dreaming! I was heading back down the SUNVALLEY MALL thinking....I'd like to see Amazon beat this deal....a whole Made in USA product....Wahl to boot! For 19.95... with local tax added on....in my hands....right now....to give to my friend....TODAY! NO...I DON'T THINK SO! Macy's Men's Department is great! And the mall is great too! A nice Macy's. We went there to purchase furniture. We found a wonderful set and at the time we left the store I would have given a 5 star review. The deduction of stars was due to the fact that the Salesperson lied to me about some promotion codes and percentage off extras that I had already planned to use when we returned home and I purchased with my already pending order online. She told me none of those extra specials and promo codes apply to furniture. Their furniture department is a seperate entity than the store sales. I believed her and my husband was so in love with this set that I said "ok let's just do it then". A few days later I was thinking about what she said and decided to try a mock sale using my codes. Well wouldn't you know it. They worked!!!!! Would have saved a couple hundred dollars in credits and points. Had we cancelled and reordered we would have gone to the end of the waiting list for delivery. As it was we were already having to wait a few weeks. We wanted to be sure all our decorating things were complete before the holidays so we just left the order alone and ate a couple hundred dollars. Not what I would expect from a Macy's sales associate but whatever. Last large purchase we will make at Macy's if there is...
