Susana's Studio — Local services in Concord

I brought in my wedding dress after reading all the wonderful reviews about Susana's Studio. At my initial fitting appointment Susana didn't really listen to me much but I chalked it up to her process, and unfortunately didn't listen to my gut.

My dress needed to be taken in, straps changed, and hem and bustle added. About a month later I was called to say my dress was ready, but when I went to try it on it still was too big. Not a big deal, so I paid for all the alterations after they said they would fix it, and I left the dress there. Once they finally finished taking the dress in (and had called me to pick it up multiple times when it was not ready) I tried it on and it fit, and I was told I had to pay for the additional alterations although I had previously paid for the dress to be taken in, and I had not lost any weight in between fittings! Not a good business practice to have a customer pay for your mistake.

To top it off, I was unhappy with how my dress was fitting in the top, and Susanna said there's nothing else she can do and that on my WEDDING I should stuff bra cups in the top and tape the dress to my skin to make it fit right. Not a reputable business, I would recommend anywhere else.

I usually never leave reviews, but my experience here was unacceptable and others need to know this before bringing a wedding gown here.

My original appointment was good, and the owner was nice (originally). I dropped off two dresses, one of which was my wedding gown. (Ignoring the second dress that is now too small) I paid $245 for clear, cheap buttons on my wedding dress bustle (which ended up being uneven and still dragging on one side). I was unaware these are apparently the buttons she uses on ALL wedding gown bustles, regardless of style or color. Upon calling her, the owner argued with me, refused any refund, and said it was unfair of me to go elsewhere without letting her replace them with the same plastic buttons, but black. It would have been a different story if she did not yell at me over the phone when I only requested a PARTIAL refund or matching buttons to be used. I went to Susana today after being told my wedding dress could not be altered the way I wanted it by another seamstress, who refused to even see the dress before making any decisions. Susana politely asked if I could drive the dress to her, so she could tell me herself if my alterations were not possible. Upon arriving and meeting Susana and Cindy, I could not be happier. They were both more than willing to help me. She completely listened to all of my wants and made sure I was going to get what I wanted! Not only is Susana kind, but she was willing to explain to me exactly how my alterations would be done and why the other woman probably wasn't willing to see the dress. She eased my anxiety of not getting my perfect wedding gown. I am SO excited to see how beautiful my dress is going to be. She really is making it MY perfect gown.
