Tonya Beauty — Local services in Dallas

I would give this woman -5 if possible. I am highly dissatisfied. I made an appointment for my biracial daughter to have a short cut done (similar to Rihanna's short sassy stage). Our appointment was made for 4pm and was confirmed, however, 30min before the appointment she texted me saying it would have to be pushed back 45min. I was already in route to her salon with all of my children in-tow, so there was no turning back (her salon is a total of 48 miles from me). I arrived at the salon and there was no waiting area for my family. She had some surprise client situation and was pushing our appointment back. (very unprofessional) she asked my daughter and I to come back into her room for a consult. while her clients (2-adult women & a child) hair was drying. She then proceeded to insult my daughter and her hair. Saying that it was dirty and she'd have to wash it before cutting.. (hello isn't that what you job entails?!) I told her my daughter attempted to wash it herself this morning but can't really get in there (again she's biracial and 11, so she is still learning).. she then proceeded to pick my daughter's hair apart pointing out her dry scalp, etc and COMPLAINING that she'd have to TEACH her how to wash her own hair correctly. She pulled a calculator out and started spouting off numbers for washing, conditioning, cutting, style etc. She asked for a picture of the style and then said "Oh this is too grown for her, this is a grown woman's hairstyle" and then she addressed my daughter and said "how old are you?!" I said "she's 11" and she said "oh no, this is too grown for her, it's going to be alot of upkeep". She asked me if I was going to relax her hair, I said "no." and then she proceeded to ask me how I was going to manage it. All of this while her other clients sat there watching and listening.. EVERYTHING about it was unprofessional and inappropriate. I have ALWAYS taken care of my daughter's hair and have NEVER allowed anyone else to do it bc they cannot be trusted. This woman put a bad taste in my mouth and her hurt my daughter's feelings. Needless to say, we walked out. The price she wanted to quote me for a hair wash and cut (for a child) was $102. Save your money and time.. go...
