Just read online that rich passed away last year. A shocker. Though he had a few health issues. He always had one of the best selections of sports memorabilia inventory. The front of the store was always expertly arranged like a fine gallery. I followed rich around to his various store locations in Hollywood florida since 1994. First on hollywood Blvd, where a tattoo shop now exists. then he moved to 46th street in Hollywood, where the winn dixie and disalvos pizza are located. It was while at this location, that he opened a second location in Weston. Then he quickly closed the Weston location. Then he moved to the corner of Park Rd and Sheridan in Hollywood. Then he moved to Stirling road, which is Dania beach. if Im not mistaken. Rich used to set up at the local south florida shows, in the mid 1990s, when there were still shows. of course Rich was a big player, organizing his own show in Boston every year, and packing huge pallets of merchandise for trucking up to the national show every summer. Rich had many stories. He never told me any of them. He was full of entertaining stories if you spent wads of cash. I never really spent wads of cash with Rich. Im not sure who owns the shop now. Is it Paul? I think Paul is his son in law. Rich's passing leaves a void in the industry. A titan in the sports memorabilia business. He did good, for a guy who in the 1970s was a Miami house painter. His father repaired furniture. ....Rich was a large guy. In the 1990s, he tried the Pritkin diet. ....if business is good, I hop you can see fit in the future to move to a larger store in Hollywood. ....I miss the added amenity that you had on 46th steet, when there was a leather couch and a TV in the store. I guess if there was a sports event on TV, you had the TV tuned to it, which is appropriate for a sports...
Read moreJust wanted to make a comment on the great experience I have had for approximately 25 years with Hollywood Collectibles
We have collected memorabilia for 30 years . During that time we have loyally followed them from Weston, Hollywood on Sheridan Street and now this location. We live in North Broward near Palm Beach and worth the drive
This week was in store and JT fixed a frame they did that had a minor imperfection. It took 5-19 minutes. Also made a purchase of three great panther pucks at a great price. The other monster autograph monopolies should take a lesson on how Paul and JT work.
They build a relationship as a customer not a faceless credit card provider of funds. Will be back this weekend or next. Plus cannot wait for signings. Here is a pic of Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull from a signing about 20 years ago that sits in my office
Thanks gents. Will be back bugging you...
