I was in town for a work trip and decided to get a polish change this morning. I had One lady remove my polish and another one painting my nails with gel polish but honestly they weren’t very warm or welcoming. And even though they were speaking mandarin I could tell she was irritated cause one of my nails she had to redo due to a smudge. The energy and vibe was just off and I’ve never had this type of experience at a nail salon. If I’m choosing YOUR business the LEAST you can do is be kind. My nails look ok but she could have cleaned them up a bit more. At any other salon they offer oil for cuticles especially if they are visibly dry as mine were and the older lady appeared to get irritated when I asked and for lotion as well smh! I was ready to go at this point. My motto nowadays is if they don’t want my business, I will Refuse to spend money. Terrible customer service and no drinks were offered not even a smile which is free. Don’t waste your time at this salon go elsewhere if you’re visiting the area.

I did *not* want to leave a bad review, but I have to be totally honest. I just moved here and needed my 4-week (still flawless, but clearly grown out) manicure redone for my anniversary. The good reviews and client photos drew me in, and the girls were all very welcoming and sweet. However, I’ve gotten the same French ombré mani in 11 different countries, and this is one of the most expensive and worst I’ve ever had. I literally came in with a photo of one of their client reviews and asked for the same dip powder manicure… instead I walked out with weird, soft, lumpy nails that fold every time I try to pick something up. 🫣 I always get acrylic or dip powder or my nails will break. I guess the ombré request really threw her off? I’d have rather them be honest and say they can’t recreate their client photo, and I’d have just chosen a single color in dip powder that will last longer than a few days. I feel terrible because she tried so hard, but $65 later I am SO bummed.

Bittersweet review.. if you want longer nails I advise you to go somewhere else. I randomly went to this place while on 16th st. It was clean and the staff seemed very friendly. She did a great job on my toes. The hand massage was a nice touch when the service was completed. They don't do acrylic nails and they don't use tips.. they put a full nail on using hard gel. Essentially they are press ons without glue. Within a week I was back up there because a nail broke and another was lifting. They fixed my broken nail for free. Even at that time the nail tech said I should get shorter nails so they won't break. Like a day later another nail broke and I just decided to go buy nail glue for these "press ons". Not even a week later the nail I went to the shop to get fixed broke again. Paid $80 for a full set that barely lasted a week Essentially I do like this place and guess I would only go back if I was getting short nails or just a manicure.

I couldn't be happier!!

How I found GG NAILS: I made my first foray into downtown since the pandemic started today, and I found my old nail salon of many years is no more... I left heart broken and wandering. Eventually I came upon GG NAILS. By some stroke of miracle, I walked in at a quiet moment and they were able to immediately give me a pedicure.

I have been under a lot of stress lately, so this self-care treatment was greatly in need. The women working the salon were incredibly welcoming and kind! They went through the entire menu of services with me to make sure I made the correct choice of what I wanted, without making me feel pressured into something I didn't want or couldn't afford.

I opted for the classic pedicure with OPI Madame President polish. Wow. Ella did an absolutely superb job! My toes have never looked better, my feet never softer, and my never calves looser! I can't wait to come back for more intense pampering.

Oh, and cleanliness! The tools were removed from their sterile packaging right in front of me, and Ella never tried to use the monstrous cheese grater or credo blade other salons do damage with.

This experience has been the best I've had with my nails in a very long time. I'm really looking forward to coming back for my little hands and maybe something fancy for my fingers.

TL;DR Incredibly clean, professional, and talented staff provide a luxurious experience for self care.

Thank you Ella!!!

Google wants to know if anything has changed. Sure hasn't!! I didn't get the name of the wonderful woman doing my nails today, just a gel manicure, and she did the most thorough job carefully removing my previous polish and impeccably trimming my cuticles. My nails haven't looked...

The first time I went, I had a great experience with Emma. I got regular polish and it actually lasted quite some time. She was friendly and chatted with me. The second time I came in, Emma was off that day, so I had a pedi and gel manicure done by someone else. She was a bit rough, and two people came in as my gel manicure started. I feel like she started rushing through it, which in my experience at a prior place, if something like this is rushed, the gel doesn’t last long, which is exactly what happened. Not even a few hours after I had gotten this gel manicure, two of my nails were chipped and partially peeled off. I had an event to go to that night so I couldn’t go back in, so I called. No apology or anything. I had planned to go in the next day to get them fixed but decided to go elsewhere because I didn’t feel as though the customer service was even remotely sympathetic. I spent over $100 to have two chipped nails by the time I had to go to my event that night. Won’t...
