The Michigan Station People Mover is very close to the Times Square Station. There is hardly time for the train to get going before it must slow down.
Nevertheless it is a convenient location to get started with the People Mover. The station has plenty of windows so you can see what is going on in there, if anything, before you enter. It feels a little cramped because after you arriver it is just a few feet to the turnstile. There is space beyond the turnstile but what to do with it? Thereâs nothing to buy at this location. The tile display on the wall is colorful and large. It is all static imagery. No televisions or communications screens. There is a location to buy tokens.
The place is kept generally clean but considering its importance to the local area I would believe it would be kept sparkling. They are trying but the question is left begging âhow hard?â. Again, nonetheless, this is a great way to see and get around the city. The cost is reasonable and the...
   Read moreThe Rosa Parks Downtown Detroit Transit Center is located directly across the street from the Michigan Avenue People Mover Station. It was also closest to my hotel and the DAX Bus to Detroit's international airport. The station is at the intersection of Michigan and Cass and is an elevated station.
Handicapped accessible with stairs, escalator and elevator, it is easy enough to navigate and get from the street to the platform. Michigan Avenue is after Times Square and before Fort/Cass.

BUT, the electric switch for wheelchair access to the outer doors, which are extremely heavy are almost never working. It makes very difficult if not impossible for some wheelchair users to enter the station from the street. Unfortunately, most of the stations have the same problem.
