My son and I who is getting ready for prom for Pope high school five stars. Salesman Miss Department did not request a fitting for the Ralph Lauren jacket and we purchased. We went to Nordstrom to purchase pants and other accessories and the tailor at Nordstrom requested to (fit/tailor) the jacket purchased from Von Maur. The salesman, seemingly not interested in the sale, the only reason I purchased a jacket is because my son liked it. Very poor salesmanship. This is an additional edit to my review. I went back to perimeter Mall Nordstrom‘s store to retrieve the items I purchased at Von Maur. Once I got to Von Maur, I attempted to find out who the salesman was who sold me the previous listed clothing. I was told by sales associate Nia and loss prevention, Liz, that they do not give out employee names. They were not unable to find my purchase through my credit cards. They would not give me any information as to the salesman was so I can write a review. I paid $83.00 extra for alterations done at Nordstrom‘s and I was told by Liz at Von Maur that they do those alterations for free with purchase which I did purchase those items from Von Mar. My sales associate did not want to look at me nor to talk to me during purchase time. The only reason I made the purchase was for my son. I am not wanting to return or exchange anything just wanting to write a review to let people know that people like me with five vehicles none older than six years old and a motorcycle and a million in a home. can’t get any luck.😕😕😕. At von Maur I was described as an ABM ( angry black male) told this by sale associate that was standing near by and advised me to leave. As it turned out she was the new department manager.

Shopped all around Perimeter Mall for men's dress shoes, with little success. As an infrequent shopper with little idea of what I wanted, all I saw were very opinionated styles that weren't going to do much for my grandmother's funeral.

Von Maur felt different walking in. At first I was intimidated by how classy everything looked and felt, I was worried it was going to be too expensive. But I was greeted warmly and nonconfrontationally as I approached by Todd, who was very attentive to what I was looking for and very knowledgeable about the shoes in stock, on clearance, and in his own personal experience.

He helped me find two comfortable pairs of shoes with great versatile styles, each for about half what I would expect to pay. I certainly didn't expect a place with a live piano player to have the least expensive shoes in the mall.

Todd is a great salesman, but never made me feel pressured. At one point he brought out a new pair from the back, and I thought "here comes the upsell." But the pair he was bringing out were the cheapest in the store -- even he was surprised. He had just recommended them because he thought they were the right shoe for what I was looking for. Turns out he was right.

It's a shame I do this kind of shopping so infrequently, because Todd himself is a real find. I couldn't find anyone in the store at that moment to praise him to, so here's a Google review....

I'm writing this review to highlight just how phenomenal this employee is. However Im unsure if you're aware of the talent you have in your building. This employee made me feel so comfortable. Not to mention she was very knowledgable on how to apply each and every product I purchased with her. Even provided me a demonstration on the importance of layering each product and the benefits on how each product would affect my skin. (In a good way) You follow me. This young lady needs to be in the corporate world for Clinique, not in a physical store. She has exactly what it takes to excel as a district regional director or a Regional director of Clinique. Von Maur you have selected a Gem and her personality is unmatched. Ms Tyequiece is a very humble and kindred spirit woman. Von Maur she has too much knowledge, expertise to be closed in on a store level with expectations of just selling. Please allow her too excel on a another level , Im sure you will not be disappointed on how far she will take you and the company. (Sidenote I attempted to give her a hard time just to see her response. She never frowned up at me, are even provided me attitude. Von Maur individuals like her don't stay on entry level long.
