Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Evansville

I love chipotle, but this location has been very disappointing as of recently. I placed an order not too long ago and asked for chips and queso, but when I got there I noticed that there were none in the bag. No problem, I’ll just ask. When I made eye contact with the employee, she scurried to the back. Oh? She is busy so I can wait to ask. She then peeked around the corner with someone else to see if I was still there and then hid again. When someone finally did emerge I asked for my chips and queso which they told me they were out of. You know what? Whatever. That’s not what upset me. You can be out of stock and that isn’t the employees’ fault. It was the fact that every employee up til then avoided me knowing full well what I was asking for instead of just owning up to it. It was about 20$ of missing food so I asked how I would go about getting a refund and they said “probably online somewhere”. I work customer service, so I never want to be a “Karen” to employees anywhere at anytime, but it was extremely disheartening to be avoided, ignored, and not given proper information when asked. I didn’t cause a fuss or argue, but I left with a different perspective of this store for sure.

Fast forward to now, the app has listed that they have been out of chips for almost a week now with all chip options turned off. Again, not a problem that they are out of stock, but when I check today all chip options are on except chips by themself. So chips and guacamole are available now but not chips itself? Good luck trying to call to ask if they actually do have them or not because you only get a broken automation machine that tries to take your order despite you saying you don’t need to place one you just have a question. I’m not the biggest fan of other eateries in this style, but at this point I’ve had too many incidents I haven’t even listed at this location since moving back home due to Covid.

Edit as of January 2021: If I could give this location 0 stars now I honestly would. I don’t know who is in charge of this location, but in comparison to the other chipotles I have been to this one always disappoints. Wrong orders, delayed times, rude staff, being now only open for three hours a day apparently, etc. I thought this location was bad a couple years ago, but since moving back home it is worst. This is the worst chipotle I have ever been to. The manager and assistant manager suck and need their position taken immediately.

From start to finish.

We walk in. Politely asked for a bowl. The heavyweight assistant manager start scraping rice that was clearly visibly stuck n old to the pan. I politely asked her “hey, may I have fresh rice” she looked at me with an attitude and said “that’s what I’m doing” okay I let that slide. Bc I get it. We all have bad days. So she pursues to ask if we wanted queso sauce. Remind you. She asked us five times and my hubby explained to her that he wants it at the end on top of everything. Anyways back to the fifth time she asked. He said yes but at the end. She said” we have a line for a reason, not to put it on when u want” so the hubby says “ did u have a bad day today bc it’s no need to be rude , we are just here to get food and we always get chipotle the same way with no problem”. She takes our food and sets it on the counter and says “have a good day “ the lady hates her job and doesn’t want to be there. I have never had an issue at any other restaurant but I believe she wanted to eat our food instead of serving it. We asked for her name and corporate number. She refused and said “ she doesn’t have to tell us her name, she didn’t have a name tag on either .” Bad customer service. Old food. Worst experience of my life. This was my first time ever going to Chipotle! I ordered a steak Burrito with Fajita veggies and I thought it was really good! The steak was super tender and seasoned really well and mine was fresh right of the grill! I had to wait maybe an extra 3 minutes for my steak but I didn't mind because it was so fresh!! I also got a free Guacamole because I signed up on their website and they give u a free Guacamole for doing so! Plus you earn points for food based on what u spend so I recommend getting the Chipotle App if you frequent eating here! I also got their cheese Queso dip and it was REALLY good! Only issue was their chips were hard as rocks which sucked because I heard they had good fresh chips! So that was a total let down but I just put it over my burrito and that was auctually really good!! Now the cleanliness of the store left Alot to be desired! It was very dirty with trash on the floors and by the drink machines! Also I used my caine to go in with my mom's assistance and it's very hard maneuvering due to how they have the tables set up and there would had been no way to use my wheelchair in this place at all!!
